I smirk as I step out of my car, finding Elijah almost amused st his predicament.
"Need a lift?"I ask, keeping my tone casual, though I could feel a strange pull just by being near him.
He straightens, raising an eyebrow. "You're not going to make me wakl are you?"
I chuckle, opening the passenger door. "Get in, then." He says something to his driver then steps in.
The moment he slipped into the car, the air between us thickened, and undercurrent of something neither of us has dared to name yet.
I gripped the wheel, focusing on the road, but my thoughts keep drifting to the man sitting beside me, the light reflecting off his profile, the subtle way he held himself with quiet confidence.
We fall into an easy conversation, talking about everything from his school to random little things, but my mind keeps spinning to one thought: how to draw him closer, just enough to feel that energy between us fully realized.
So I try testing the waters, "You know, it's almost unfair."
He turns to me, confused. "What is?"
I smile, letting my voice drop, my gaze staying fixed on the road. "The way you make it so easy for me to want to keep you here."
He's breathing hitched, and I knew I'd hit a nerve. I risk a quick, catching the faintest flush on his cheeks, and I couldn't help but press further.
"You're quiet now," I murmur, my voice smooth, knowing exactly what I am doing. "Almost like you're hiding something from me. But I wonder...if I told what I wanted, would you stay, or would you run?"
His voice comes out quieter than before. "Depends on what you want."
We are almost at the Vega mansion so I slow the car, pull over, letting the night wrap around us. I lean in, just enough to feel his breath mingling with my own, my eyes meeting his with raw intensity. "What if I wanted to kiss you?"
His gaze flicker, a mixture of surprised and something else, something that matched the spark burning in me. And just as I'd hoped, he didn't pull away, he learned in, caught in the moment.
Our lips meet, soft at first, but the connection hit me like a surge, igniting hunger, that I didn't realize had been fastering. I deepen the kiss, the intensity building as I feel him yield, a small sound escaping his lips, one that made me unleash something within me.
My hand moves to wrap around his neck possessively and I can feel the monster, inside of me, clawing to claim, to pull him completely to my world.
But suddenly, he pulls back, breathing hard, as if snapping out of a trance. His eyes wide, his expression somewhere between longing and realization.
"I...should go," he stammered, quickly reaching for the door handle. I watch him go, my heart still racing , feeling the powerful spark that flared between us, still lingering in the air.
Back at the estate, I prowl through my dimly lit bedroom, hands clenched tightly by my sides. The memory of his lips on mine won't leave me. It's imprinted in my head, haunting me each heartbeat. I'd meant for the kiss to be gentle, just a brush to test the waters. But the moment Elijah leaned in, all my restraint vanished.
The way he'd given in, his defenses slipping, only for that single, intoxicating moment. It was maddening. And now...I want more. I want everything.
"Damn it" I murmur, running a hand through my hair, my fingers tingling with the ghost of his warmth.
A wild urge filled me, a whisper that I should just get in my car, drive over, crawl through his window and make him understand there is no running away from me. From what we started.
The rational part of me tells me to slow down, to think this through. But that part of me—the one he starred awake–wanted to ignore all restraints.
"Elijah," I whisper to myself, the name slipping from my lips like a vow, a promise. He may have ran tonight, but I know he'll be back. I'll make sure of it. The fire he sparked can't be extinguished, and I wasn't about to let ith end with just one taste.
I smirk to myself, a dark determination setting in. "You shouldn't have let me kiss you, Elijah," I murmur to the silence. "You woke something in me, and I'm not going to rest until you're mine."
I make a promise to my self, right there, that next time I wouldn't let him escape. I'll find him, chase him down if I have to, until he understands that there is no hiding from what had started between us.
