As the weeks passed, Dew’s demeanor began to change. The weight of his actions pressed heavily on him. He caught glimpses of Nani at the stadium, each sighting a reminder of the pain he had inflicted.

One day, while cleaning, Nani felt a wave of nausea wash over him. He leaned against a wall, breathing heavily. Dew noticed, concern flickering in his eyes for just a moment before he buried it under layers of anger.

“Are you okay?” Dew asked, the words slipping out before he could stop them.

“Why do you care?” Nani retorted, glaring at Dew. “You’ve made it clear how you feel about me.”

“I—” Dew hesitated, struggling with the emotions he had long buried. “I didn’t mean for things to go this way.”

Nani’s heart raced. “What do you mean? You think a few kind words will fix what you did?”

“No!” Dew snapped, frustration boiling over. “I just… I don’t know how to fix this!”

In that moment of vulnerability, something shifted between them. But before Nani could respond, Dew turned away, the conflict raging within him unresolved.
