The final bell rang, echoing through the halls of the academy as students went out into the afternoon sun. Carlos Wright, leaning against a brick wall outside the school, watching as the students chattering and laughing, their relief at the day's end. Among them, his eyes searched for one familiar face, Bella Jones.
Taking a deep breath, Carlos stepped forward, trying to shake off the weight of yesterday's incident. He had never meant to hurt her feelings, but his stubbornness had taken over. Now, he looked determined to make things right.
As he approached, he noticed Bella's familiar silhouette. Her dark hair flowed softly in the wind. He walked quickly, hoping to reach her before she disappeared down the street.
"Bella!" he called out, and she briefly halted, glancing back at him.
"Hey, um, I wanted to talk to you," he said, smiling. "About yesterday..."
Before he could finish, a car pulled up suddenly beside them, its engine purring smoothly. Bella's face shifted from surprise to recognition as she caught sight of the driver. Her eyes widened, and without hesitation, she stepped towards the vehicle, a mix of excitement and disbelief shining in her expression.
"Peter!" she exclaimed, rushing to the passenger side of the car. Carlos stood frozen, curiosity piquing as he watched this unexpected reunion unfold. Peter had been one of Bella's close friends back in the Village of Cuidado, a neighborhood they both once called home.
Carlos's heart sparkled. He was happy to see Bella finally reunites with her friend. As she leaned into the car, a flood of laughter and familiar banter flowed between them, reminding Carlos of how quickly friendships could be rekindled.
"Where have you been? I can't believe you're here!" Bella's voice was lively, filled with a joy that made Carlos smile. Watching her interact with Peter only solidified what he felt: he genuinely wanted to befriend her and tell her everything right away.
Carlos took a step back, feeling the weight of the situation. He decided to be patient. He would wait for a better opportunity, one where he could make her smile and be someone she could trust. He stood quietly, watching Bella to reconnect with her old friend, hoping for a chance to share his intentions once she turned her focus back to the present.
"Bella!" Peter called out, unable to contain his joy. She looked, her expression lighting up in recognition. As she approached, Peter felt a rush of nostalgia. Memories of their last encounter flooded back.
When she finally reached the car, he leaned slightly over the passenger seat, his eyes sparkling, excited to see a grown Bella.
"It's so good to see you again!" he exclaimed, the warmth in his voice mirroring the energy of Bella. "Bella, I've got some news," he said, a hint of excitement in his voice. She looked up, curiosity sparkling in her eyes. "I'm working for the Wright family now," he continued, a grin spreading across his face.
Bella looked up, intrigued and happy to see her old friend, as Peter went on. "I work with Tina, she's actually the Wright's chef. And my brother Jesiah is with me too, he's also a driver like me."
Bella's heart skipped a beat. "Wait, what? Tina and Jesiah? I didn't know they were also here!"
"Yes, they've both joined the Wright family staff," Peter explained, a hint of excitement in his voice.
"You seem to be glad to hear that your friends were actually back, Bella. Peter, why don't you show her where they are back at home?" Carlos began,
Peter's eyes lit up at the suggestion, curiosity flowing with a hint of excitement. "Oh, will this be fine Your Highness?" he asked,
