Chapter 4: Suspicious Signals

---

Esin closed her laptop after game night, but her mind kept replaying the night’s events. She knew Ulaş well—he was her best friend. Yet, recently, he’d been acting… different. Little things, really: sticking close to her in-game, sending her random messages during the day, even cracking jokes that seemed almost… flirty?

---

[The next morning, Esin opens her chat with Buse.]

---

Esin
sends a series of screenshots from their Discord chat, showing Ulaş’s messages
Look at these. Tell me I’m not imagining things.

---

Buse
reads through the screenshots
Ooooooh! Esin, you’re not imagining anything.

---

Esin
Girl, stop! I mean, maybe he’s just being nice? We’ve been close forever… but he’s never acted like this.

---

Buse
Come on, Esin, I think we both know when a guy’s being “just nice” and when he’s acting suspiciously interested. Like, look at this one—“Don’t worry, I’ve got your back. Anytime.” Sus.

---

Esin
You think? Because it’s like… weirdly sweet. And maybe a little cute? But also, he’s Ulaş.

---

Buse
Look, sometimes even best friends catch feelings. It happens. I’d say, keep an eye on him. See if he drops any more hints.

---

Esin
sighs, then hesitates
Fine. But if he is acting “in love,” I’m going to feel so weird. Like, isn’t that awkward?

---

Buse
Who says it has to be awkward? Just go with it. If you catch him acting a little too close, send me more screenshots. I want all the tea.

---

Esin
You’re the worst. But… yeah, okay. I’ll keep you posted.

---

[Esin puts her phone down, her mind racing as she replays Ulaş’s messages, trying to ignore the tiny flutter of excitement.]

---

A part of her wanted to ask Ulaş outright. But… she couldn’t risk it, not when their friendship meant everything. What if Buse was wrong and she ended up losing him over a misunderstanding? She sighed, pushing away the thought.

For now, she'd keep it to herself—just close enough to notice, but not close enough to say anything.
