Chapter 7: A Push in the Right Direction

---

Esin was lying on her bed, staring up at the ceiling, her phone resting on her chest. She’d just spent hours talking with Ulaş, laughing at inside jokes, sharing playlists, and teasing each other like always. But this time, something felt different. A thought had been lingering in her mind, one she kept trying to ignore.

Buse’s message popped up on her screen, pulling her from her thoughts.

---

Buse
So… how was the chat with Ulaş?

---

Esin smiled, rolling her eyes. Buse always knew when she was with Ulaş.

---

Esin
It was great, as usual. Why?

---

Buse
smirking emoji
Come on, Esin. You two are so close, and I know there’s more going on than just friendship.

---

Esin
eyes widening
Wait, what? Buse, don’t start that again! He doesn’t like me like that.

---

Buse
typing quickly
I’m serious, Esin. I think he does. He’s always around, he makes time for you, and have you noticed how he talks to you? It’s different.

---

Esin felt her heart race. She wanted to believe Buse, but the idea of Ulaş actually liking her seemed too good to be true.

---

Esin
I don’t know… I mean, I’ve thought about it, but… what if I’m just reading into things? I don’t want to ruin our friendship if I’m wrong.

---

Buse
determined
Look, Esin. I’ve seen the way he looks at you. Trust me on this one. And maybe it’s time you just go for it. Tell him how you feel.

---

Esin hesitated. She was nervous, but Buse’s words had sparked a little hope in her. Maybe, just maybe, Buse was right. Taking a deep breath, she typed back.

---

Esin
Alright. Maybe I’ll say something soon. Just… give me some time to work up the courage.

---

Buse grinned at her screen. She had a plan to make this happen.

---

[Later that night, Buse opens a private chat with Ulaş.]

---

Buse
Hey, Ulaş! Got a sec?

---

Ulaş
Yeah, what’s up?

---

Buse
Look, I think Esin… likes you. winking emoji

---

Ulaş
laughing emoji
Very funny, Buse. Come on, we’re just friends.

---

Buse
rolling her eyes through the screen
Ulaş, I’m serious! I know Esin, and I can tell. She wouldn’t just spend all this time with you if it didn’t mean something. And you’ve gotta admit, you’re always around her too.

---

Ulaş stared at the screen, his heart thumping. He’d had feelings for Esin for a while but had always pushed them aside, convincing himself that it was one-sided.

---

Ulaş
I don’t know… What if it’s all in my head? I don’t want to mess things up between us.

---

Buse
encouragingly
Trust me. She’s been dropping hints, Ulaş. And honestly, I think you’d both be happier if you just said something.

---

Ulaş
sighing
You really think so?

---

Buse
Absolutely. Go for it. Don’t let this slip by—you might regret it. Just… talk to her, and be honest. You’ll never know if you don’t try.

---

After a long pause, Ulaş finally replied.

---

Ulaş
Alright… I think I’ll do it. Thanks, Buse.

---

Buse smiled to herself, feeling a rush of excitement. She could hardly wait to see Esin’s reaction. Tomorrow, everything would change.
