The arena erupted into thunderous applause as Alethea stood calmly, her emerald eyes shining.

"Incredible!" a spectator shouted. "She's a goddess of light!"

"Alethea, Alethea, Alethea!" the crowd chanted.

"A true master of magic!" a wizard exclaimed.

"Unbelievable strategy!" a strategist added.

Prince Kieran's eyes sparkled with awe. "By the gods, Alethea's genius knows no bounds!"

He turned to Lieutenant Ace. "Did you see that? Divine Illumination on such a massive scale!"

Ace nodded, grinning. "General Alethea's tactics are unparalleled, Your Highness."

The host's voice boomed through the arena. "And the standings are... Alethea, General of Avalor, takes the lead with 500 points!"

The crowd gasped.

"Sir Malakai, Valtoria's champion, follows with 350 points."

"Lyra, Eldrid's illusionist, holds third with 250 points."

Kieran's gaze remained fixed on Alethea. "She's more than just a skilled magician... She's a visionary."

Queen Lirien smiled, pride radiating from her. "Our General's true strength shines brighter with each challenge."

King Ryker nodded. "Avalor's future is brighter with Alethea at the helm."

Captain Rykeria approached Alethea. "General, your strategy was flawless. You've outdone yourself."

Alethea's smile hinted at her satisfaction. "Thank you, Captain. The tournament's far from over."

As the audience continued to praise Alethea, Sir Malakai's expression turned calculating.

"She may have won this round," he thought, "but Valtoria's secrets will soon be unleashed."

Lyra's eyes narrowed. "I won't underestimate Alethea again."

Kael's face darkened. "I'll crush her in the next round."

The competition had only just begun.

The sun's rays peeked over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the arena. The 50 remaining contestants, divided into five groups of 10, stood ready for the next challenge.

"Round 4: The Gemstone Quest!" the host announced.

Alethea's group, drawn by lots, consisted of:

1. Alethea (Avalor)
2. Eira (Vylonia)
3. Thorne (Khyronia)
4. Lyrien (Eldrid)
5. Ryker (Calonia)
6. Kieran (Nefaria)
7. Galen (Valtoria)
8. Arin (Elyria)
9. Keir (Floria)
10. Lysander (Maronia)

Sir Malakai's group on the other hand was transported to a sandy desert

Alethea's group materialized in a fog-shrouded realm, mist swirling around them.

"Find the magical gem," the host's voice echoed. "Group work is crucial. If one member fails to participate, they'll be removed."

Thorne nodded, scanning the fog. "Let's move out."

Eira added, "Stay alert. We don't know what dangers lurk within."

As they ventured deeper, the fog began to clear, revealing a majestic fountain.

"Look!" Lyrien exclaimed. "A fountain!"

Ryker grinned. "Let's investigate."

Arin cautioned, "Wait. This might be a trap."

Lysander examined the fountain's base. "I think Arin's right."

Galen suggested, "Let's split up and search."

Alethea nodded. "Agreed. Thorne, Eira, and I will search the perimeter. Lyrien, Ryker, and Arin, check the fountain. Lysander, Galen, and Keir, examine the statues."

The group dispersed.

As they searched, the fog cleared, revealing statues surrounding the fountain.

"What do these statues mean?" Keir asked.

Lysander's eyes narrowed. "I think they're more than decorations."

Suddenly, the statues stirred.

The group froze.

And then, everything went silent.

The audience held its collective breath.

What would happen next?

Would Alethea's group uncover the gem's secrets?

Alethea's group stood before the majestic fountain, surrounded by statues of mythical creatures. As they examined the statues, they noticed that each had movable parts.

"Look!" Lyrien exclaimed. "These statues can be rearranged!"

Thorne nodded. "Let's see what happens when we move them."

With a soft click, the statues' parts fitted together, forming a cohesive whole. Suddenly, one statue spoke in a calm, melodious voice.

"Greetings, adventurers. To claim the magical gem, solve two riddles. Failure will summon the Guardians of the Fountain."

Eira's eyes widened. "What kind of Guardians?"

The statue replied, "Those who fail will face the Shadow Serpents. You have one minute to answer each riddle."

Galen asked, "What's the first riddle?"

The statue spoke:

"Where shadows dance, yet light prevails,
A reflection of truth, in silence it fails.
What am I?"

Alethea's group exchanged nervous glances.

Lysander suggested, "Three people should try to guess. Five hold the statue parts, and two block any attacks."

Ryker nodded. "I'll help with the riddle. Lyrien and Galen, join me."

Thorne, Eira, Arin, Keir, and Kieran held the statue parts, while Alethea and Lysander prepared to defend.

The minute began.

Ryker ventured, "Is it a mirror?"

The statue replied, "Incorrect. The Shadow Serpents awaken."

Two dark serpents emerged from the fountain, their jaws open wide.

Alethea acted swiftly, raising her hand to block the first serpent's strike. Her palm glowed with a soft, yellow light, deflecting the attack without a scratch. The audience gasped in awe.

"How did she...?" a spectator whispered.

The second serpent attacked, its fangs bared.

Alethea blocked with her leg, her movements fluid and precise. The serpent's fangs clashed against her boot, harmlessly sliding off. The audience erupted into applause.

"Unbelievable!" someone shouted.

"Next guess!" the statue urged.

Lyrien suggested, "Is it a whisper?"

The statue replied, "Incorrect. The Shadow Serpents intensify."

The serpents grew larger, their attacks more ferocious.

Galen ventured, "Is it a shadow itself?"
