The Twins

Welp, todays the day the twins come. I'm not really interested in them, I just hope they aren't lame or annoying. As of right now, I was sitting at the front desk drawing on a piece of paper. I was scribbling down this thing I kept seeing after I put the earring on. It was an odd floating animal of sorts. It looked like a mix between a cat and a Siberian flying squirrel. It was also this translucent purple color, like a spirit. Whatever it was, it kept following me around, and no one else could see it, just me. It was annoying at all, in fact, it was like a cute companion. I quite like it, but I'm not sure what to name it.
"Welcome to the Mystery Shack!" My thoughts were cut off by Stan's loud voice as he barged into the shop. There were two kids who followed him in. One was a boy in a vest and the other was a girl with a shooting star sweater. They were interesting to say the least.
"Hey, kid. Go show these two their room." He said to me before walking off to scam some customers. I just rolled my eyes before pocketing the drawing and hopping down form the seat. I walked around the counter and stood in front of the two.
"I'm y/n." My voice was particularly uninterested, but truthfully, I was very intrigued. The glow emanating from around the boy was unusual. Even more so than all the other unusual things I've been seeing.
"I'm Mabel! And this is Dipper!" She said, some spit flying out of her mouth as she talked, making me slightly grossed out.
"Okay...Follow me." I lead them up to the attic.
"This is it, I know it sucks, but it's better than nothing. I'll be down in the shop. If you need something, ask someone else." I said with bored eyes before going back down to the counter. I know it seemed kind of harsh, but I just couldn't wrap my head around that boy. After I put on this weird earring, everything changed and I could see all these new odd things. But every time something new appeared my eyes remained open and I could understand what it was or what it meant. At least in some aspect. Like the creature, I wasn't entirely sure what it was, but I knew that it was a friendly spirit. Dipper on the other hand, he was a complete mystery.....and I don't like it one bit....

It had been a couple days since they got here. The two of them have settled in and enough time has passed for me to make a general assumption of who they are. Mabel is a boy crazy optimist who appears to lack the ability to see how others feel, and Dipper, he clearly hates it here. Aside from that, he's still one big mystery, one I'm determined to solve. I've started to understand my new view of this world, although it's taken a bit. To put it simply, there are three general observations: one, the reason everything is opposite in color is to represent what it's truly like. Y'know, don't judge a book by its cover type of thing. Two, the creatures that float, walk, or teleport around are spirits. Whether they are the spirits of things that were once alive is out of my current knowledge. And three, every person has an aura. Each aura is a different color which represents their personality. Sometimes the aura can have symbols or maybe even multiple colors and symbols, but no matter what, I've always been able to tell what someone's aura means.
So tell me.....what does it mean when Dipper's Aura is black and filled with question marks? I just don't understand, and it's frustrating me. For the first time in my life I've finally been able to understand things clearly, now I find something I can't, it makes me angry...so angry.

Putting those untamed feelings away, as of right now, I'm working the counter, Dipper is sweeping, and Mabel is trying to pick up guys. Then out of nowhere Stan walked in and said that two of us need to hang signs in the forest.
"Uh, you two. Go do it."He said to me and Dipper, making me scowl in return. Then Dipper started to go on about how something weird was going on around here....if only he knew.
"Let's go." I said coldly while grabbing the signs and Dipper's arm. I'm going to figure him out, no matter the cost.

The two of us started hanging up signs in the creepy part of the forest, although it was probably scarier for him, since  I can see the true nature of the forest. As we kept hanging signs, I kept watching him, trying to see what came from those ominous question marks, but nothing ever did. It was making me furious.
"What the..." Dipper's voice cut me out of my not so nice thoughts. He was standing in front of a tree, his sign in hand.
"What." I said as I walked and stood behind him.
"Somethings wrong with this tree." He said while staring at it. I reached around him and put my hand on the tree, examining it, and unintentionally trapping him momentarily. As I examined it, I could tell he was right. There was something inside...something that had an aura. I've never seen an item have an aura but apparently whatever this is holds great power.
"Let me get it." I lowered my arm and he moved out from between me and the tree. As I stared at the tree I brought back my fist and swung. When I hit it, it popped open and I could feel Dipper staring at me. His attention, however, was quickly redirected to what was in the tree.
"Woah...."  as he stared at the book in wonder and curiosity, I felt more angry grow as I stared at him. When he grabbed the book, his aura and that of the book started to merge. Now, not only were their question marks, but his black mixed with gold and six fingered hands started to float around too. I swear to whatever god is out there, I will end this boy if I can't figure him out soon.

???
You see this right here? Ever since I put it on, I crave understanding....I need it....I must know everything there is to know....Every answer to every problem....and if I can't find the answer...I'll just have to get rid of the problem.....now won't I?
