The prologue starts off in the year 2142. In deep space the stars are seen and silence is heard. However a Weyland-Yutani space probe is seen flying in space. The space probe continues drifting, passing past a star. On its surface, a Weyland-Yutani logo is etched into its metal casing. As the probe continues on its journey, it suddenly alters course, heading towards a nearby moon. Scans indicate that this celestial body hasn't been explored yet. The probe flies over and investigates the wreckage of the USCSS Nostromo, which was destroyed two decades prior. The probe hovers above the wreckage, scanning the remains of the doomed ship. Debris floats eerily in the weightlessness of space. The probe's scanners pick up faint life signals from the wreckage. However, they detected a large cocoon that was flying in space. The Weyland-Yutani probe continues its journey, carrying the colossal cocoon with it. The probe alters course and heads toward a previously unknown space station hidden in the shadow of an asteroid. The scene shifts to the inside of the space station. Inside the room, a team of Weyland-Yutani scientists, clad in masks and lab coats to protect their identities, surround a complex machine. One of the scientists, with a steady hand, initiates a sequence on the control panel. The machine hums to life with a low-key buzzing sound.
The laser of the machine powers on. With surgical precision, it begins to cut through the hardened, alien exterior of the colossal cocoon.
The cocoon's outer layer crumbles slowly, revealing glimpses of the mysterious being within.
One of the scientists pressed a button which opened the large cocoon showing the xenomorph that killed off the Nostromo's crew.
The xenomorph wasn't awake or aware of what was going on.
The room, now devoid of the scientists, is left in eerie silence. The door slides shut, sealing the Xenomorph in its new chamber. The camera pans around the room, finally settling on a close-up shot of the broken husk of the cocoon. Its dark, organic material clings to the outline of the creature, casting a menacing silhouette in the shadows.
