I put my car keys in my bag .
"Let's go " Noah said , unbothered . I wonder what he thought about me . I followed him . The walk was silent . Until it wasnt . 6:59.
A bell rang , im guessing this meant I was late . Great .
People were still in the halls , just looking at me . I couldn't be the ONLY new girl .
" You're the only new girl , so a lot of people are going to stare at you " Noah muttered . I hid my emotions and did my cold face , I didnt say a word to him . I couldn't . We walked pass a group of girls on the first stair case , Freshmans. They all looked breathtaking . But they had wigs , and lashes , and big , long nails . Quite concerning .
" Who's this ?" One girl said , standing up , walking towards . I wanted to fly away . Was this his girlfriend or something ?
" New girl , the principal is making me walk her to all of her classes today. Why are ya out here?" Noah asked.
" For a social studies project . You're really pretty !" She said .
I smiled back , my pearly white teeth sparkling , my dimples popping .
" Thank you " I managed to say . I could feel Noah looking down at me . We passed the girls and were now on the second floor .
" That's your girlfriend ?" I asked , really curious .
He chuckled . " No . That's my ex's sister though " he explained .
" Oh" I simply said , not knowing what to say .
" So.... "Crystal Jones " are you related to Zion Jones ?" He asked . My heart skipped a beat . HOWD HE KNOW MY DAD ? WERE WE SECRETLY RELATED ? GOSH I HOPE NOT .
" Yes, he's my dad, why?" I asked , coldly , trying to keep cool .
" Oh , word ?? he's a legend ! He donated so much money to our school ! " Noah said .
" How exactly ?" I responded .
" He found oil in Greenville , and the president bought what's called the land of oil for $3 billion dollars !" Noah said .
" Oh. Cool" I awkwardly smiled as we climbed the second staircase , reaching the THIRD FLOOR. 7:10. My dad was famous too??? Great . More attention.The classes were pretty straightforward. We found a class with the label "ENGLISH" . I walked to the door with Noah . Ms . Davidson turned her attention to us , and so did the class.
" Is this our precious new Crystal Jones ???" Ms Davidson asked , she looked extremely youthful , like in her late 20s . Her brunette hair in a bun , with black glasses . Oh gosh . Why is everyone saying my full name ???
" Just call me Chris" I said .
" Ok!! and Noah . You're here too ! You can Take a seat " Ms . Davidson said , her voice changing tones .
She kept me at the front of the class of at least 50 people , and none of them were smart looking . They looked like popular , young n turnt people.
" This is Zion Jones daughter !! Isn't she beautiful ?!!" Ms . Davidson said loudly , like all of us hadn't woken up really early . My shirt was still pretty wet from earlier , but it wasnt like " see through " anymore . I hated my big ego already . And it wasnt even my ego ! It was my dad's .
" Yes!!" A girl in the front said , an empty seat next to her . Fuck . I smiled and sat next to her . , setting my stuff down . Ms . Davidson started teaching , and I pulled out my composition notebook and a pen . We were taking notes on analyzing literature . Which I didn't really understand . We had to write at least 2 pages worth of notes .
" You guys will be assigned book groups of 5 via Class dojo . Once you get with your group you all decide what book you guys want to read together and analyze the literature using your notes " Ms . Davidson explained . I sighed . More interactions . Ms. Davidson then clicked on class dojo , and the groups of five were on the board . I looked for my name and it said " Noah . H, Crystal . J , Logan .L , June . B, Elijah . W" I got out of my seat but to my surprise, my group came to me , so I said back down , June was the girl sitting next to me . She seemed pretty nice . I stayed silent , Logan looking at me in my eyes .
" Where you from ?" He asked .
" Rosewood , Why?" I replied .
" Just asking " He said .
" So what do y'all wanna read ?? " I asked, tiredly .
" You" Logan said , a smile on his face as he tilted his head to the side .
" Yo, chill out . She just got here and you tryna hop onnat ?" Elijah laughed .
I just rolled my eyes , and waited for a proper response . Logan looked like Noah , but had a nose ring ,was a LOT SHORTER , and had a baby face with a mustache and a goatee . Not bad looking , not bad. But June looked like she was drooling over him . She couldn't stop blushing and it was creepy . June was Blasian with a short wavy hair bob , wore black glasses , she had REALLY pure skin , like , glowingly.She had a very petitie figure , like mine , but hers was more hour glass like . She was wearing a black graphic T- shirt that said " RICHSTAR 69" a grey skirt , and white jordan 4s . How was Logan looking at me and not HER? she is gorgeous.
" Yea , leave her alone Logan " June said , jealously .
" We should read All the Lights we Cannot See " June suggested .
" That sounds interesting I guess. Welp, I'll go get the book " I said , rising out of my seat and walking to the front to collect the book . As I was walking all I hear is:
" Her body's tea!" being whispered by one of the girls in the classroom . Seriously ?!!!! What is wrong with this place . I sat down with 5 copies of books in my hand and pasted them out to each of them . June started reading , but Elijah and Logan kept whispering . What were they whispering ?? I wonder. June took out her phone toward the end of class .
" But your number here . You're in our book club , so you should be in our friend group as well" June said , holding her phone out .
"June we don't know her !!" Noah said , my heart felt like it had been shattered into little pieces , was I really not good company ??
" If Noah's not comfortable with it , then I won't join " I said , my voice obviously changed , like I was hurt . I barely knew this dude , why did I care if he didn't want me in his stupid friend group?
" Noah Don't be like that ! Its ok pretty , you can join our group " Logan said , Elijah was shaking his head in disbelief, his dreads moving with his head . 7:40. Class ended in 5 minutes . I put my phone number in Junes phone .The last 5 minutes I sit in my seat , which wasnt faraway from the door . Logan was pestering June , whispering things .When the bell rang , Noah waited for me . I caught up to him . The rest of the day , I had no classes with him . Which kind of made me sad . I don't know why . I've never thought or cared about boys until .... Well... today .
But I did find out Freshman and Sophomore Girls Volleyball + Soccer tryouts was tomorrow . And then Sept 5 was Juniors and Seniors Girls Volleyball + Soccer tryouts . I've been playing volleyball since I was in eigth grade . And I played Varsity all 3 times . So I would Definitely be trying out for Volleyball . After the last bell rang , I left my class to get to my car . Once I got inside , I let out a little giggle at the thought of Noah's smile . I'm going crazy . I had only 1 class with him , 4 with June ( gym , English , science , and health ) , 3 ( gym , science , and egineering ) with Logan which made me want to die , and 2 ( English and Social Studies )with Elijah . Elijah was a cool guy. He got the most dialogue out of me definitely.I found out he had a girlfriend. He showed me a picture of her and she was a pretty white girl in her Sophomore year. My stomach growled . Then it hit me . I haven't eaten all day !! What . A . Day .
