LORENZO POV :

These past few days with Kanani have been hectic.

Ever since I've had her, people think im going to sell her at an auction, so they try to save a spot.

Now Kanani, she's too sweet for my world. That person, who I refuse to call my uncle, is a sick monster.

We promised not to hurt any women or children unless it came up to that point. He broke both of those rules, and I knew he wouldn't stop until I stepped in.

She's been through so much. She tries to hide it, but I see right through it.

Her tired eyes.

Her cries and screams I hear every night .

Her scars that she tries so hard to hide.

Especially the ones on her wrist.

Once I saw them, something blew up inside of me. How could someone hurt a person so bad they start to hurt themselves?

I want to get her help, but I know she doesn't feel comfortable around men.

I don't know why I asked her to marry me. I just want her to feel comfortable with me.

She's gorgeous, stunning, beautiful. She has this glow that I can see through her pain.

I can tell she feels uncomfortable with me. Maybe I've been too harsh.

I want her to feel safe and secure, but I know that the amount of pain she's been through, she's not going to feel that way for a while.
