I was in the conference room of the building with my boss and another agents, who was around my age but looked more Mature.

"Okay, so do we all agree that there's someone at Express High School?" my boss asked, scanning the room for confirmation.

Everyone nodded, and I remained silent, listening intently.

"Right. They've been leaking information about some bizarre parallel dimensions. We need to shut this down sooner rather than later."

I took a deep breath. "Boss, I've been at Express High School for weeks, but there's been no sign of an imminent attack. The only thing I've noticed is this unsettling feeling-like I'm being watched... and that's it." My tone was flat and serious, betraying none of the anxiety that churned inside me.

"Is there anything new... Agent Shadow?" my boss asked, his gaze fixed on me.

"There was a new student yesterday," I replied, my voice flat. "But I'm not sure he's the one leaking the info... he seems different, I guess."

"That's exactly what those who leak information want you to think," he said, his tone serious. "A new student in the middle of March, huh? That's interesting."

I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. "I didn't like how you said that, but thanks, I guess."

The last thing I needed was more pressure.

"Your instincts matter," he continued, ignoring my comment. "Every detail counts. I want you to observe him closely. See who he interacts with and how he behaves. We can't afford to overlook anything."

I nodded slowly, trying to shake off the unease gnawing at me. "I'll keep my eyes open."

"Good. Report back to me if you notice anything unusual," my boss instructed, his expression firm. "This could be our only lead."

As I left the conference room, I felt a mix of anxiety and determination. The new student could be an innocent transfer or the key to uncovering a larger conspiracy. Either way, I knew I had to be careful.

Sunday was my free day, a rare moment of respite from the chaos of my double life. I spent the morning helping my mom with chores-cleaning, organizing, and preparing meals.

It felt good to be grounded in the familiar routine, but even during those mundane tasks, my mind wandered back to the new student.

As I washed the dishes, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. I thought about how easy it was for someone to blend in and act normal while hiding secrets. My mom hummed a tune in the background, completely unaware of the storm brewing in my life.

I figured out that his name was Diego. He had an older sister and twin brother and sister. That was all I knew about him.

MONDAY

I HATE MONDAYS.

Every time I'm at school, I always fall asleep-EVERY. GOD. DAMN. PERIOD. I'm proud that my boss is my guardian; he basically acts like my mother. He even uses a voice changer to sound like her. He told them I had narcolepsy and insomnia. It was a good lie, but I do have insomnia.

"Evelyn, how many times do I have to tell you to go to the office?" my calculus teacher said, irritated.

"I'm fine," I groaned, struggling to stay awake.
