An alarm blares in her ears, the sound carries throughout the room, attacking her head, and still feels pain from the night before. Mr. Munson yells from outside as he tries to get the barking dog's attention, but fails. The black family was heard from the attic room making the realization that it was truly Wednesday morning more of a reality and sooner or later a relative might come yell at Veronica for not getting her lazy ass up to turn off her alarm. On the dot foot steps start to come from the hallway outside her room, knocking followed along.
"Roni, get up. Mother needs to speak with you." Sarah spoke but was too focused on her Rubix cube to make her tone more compassionate. Groans came from the teenager that held a pillow up to her face, why was everyone up so early? Turning over again Veronica flicked her wrist to turn off the beeping alarm. A second later and after much mental preparation the girl got out of bed to get ready for the day. The sun was shining through the long windows that were on either side of the attic room, the stained glass flowers at the tops of the windows made a beautiful design on the hardwood floors. The room had posters of bands hanging up on parts of them, books were scattered throughout the place, and in the main area of the long room was a record player. Veronica grabbed a vinyl that read Billy Idol on the outside. Setting it down and playing it, Rebel Yell broke through the noise.
Veronica danced around the room to the music starting her morning with music to set the tone. Dancing in the mirror, she caught a glimpse of a severed head that sat by the closet door. It was a woman's head, her eyes were taken out of her skull, and she looked to be almost eighty years old. A chuckle fell from Veronica's lips as she approached the head on the floor.
"Well Mrs. Barren, whatever should I do with you?" She questioned holding the head by its hair. Blood dripped onto the floor. "Mrs. Barren, where on earth are your manners? Do you know it's rude to make messes in someone else's house?" Veronica clicked her tongue as she tossed the head in her garbage and went back to dancing around her room.
Clicking of heels came down the stairs, and the noise of the Black family got louder with every step. A skateboard rolled by almost making Veronica fall, and a small girl ran after it.
"Rebecca! Put that thing away before someone gets hurt." Mrs. Black came walking away from the kitchen, Mrs. Black had the body that made every mother jealous. Especially for her age, Mrs. Blacks' face didn't look a day over twenty-three either and her long blonde hair complimented it so well. Bright teal eyes bore into Veronica's as Mrs. Black walked over in her black suit and heels. "Make sure no one gets killed for me, and I will be back late tonight due to my new case, Dear." A smile lined with bright red lipstick grew on her kind face.
"Sure thing, Mother. What car am I taking?" Veronica yelled as Mrs. Black walked towards the door. With a graceful spin, she looked at her eldest daughter.
"The jeep dear." With the door closing Veronica headed to the kitchen to find the twins drinking the rest of the orange juice. Another grown left Veronica's mouth, "You two. Grab Rebecca and meet me out at the jeep." Not even an acknowledgment came from either or as they walked off. The twins had teal eyes like their mothers and brighter blonde hair that was styled in flowy curls. No matter what the two always tried keeping up with the trends and dressing the same, just slightly different colors. Walking around the corner she found her other sister Sarah still playing with her Rubix Cube. "Let's go, Nerd, we need to head out." Sarah looked up from her cube to give her a dirty look and a sigh.
"Just because you are the oldest Roni, doesn't mean we always have to be late because of you." Sarah tapped her watch showing the time, thirteen minutes late.
"Shit!" Veronica yelled and ran towards the black jeep outside. "Come girls, we need to leave!" The rest of the sisters came outside to hop into the car. "One, the creepy, two, and four! Let's head out."
