The extra shot of espresso was definitely a mistake no matter how many marksheets she was checking. When Satomi read one essay of a student, she was supposed to correct the terrible German but she ended up sobbing.
She was sobbing because the student had wrote about his antics with his friends which suddenly made her miss that old and quaint town of Busan, South Korea. The part-timer was quite worried about her and she too now felt embarrassed for crying without a reason. Only to make matters worse, her phone started ringing. Yoon Juwon called her exactly when she said she would.
"Why are your eyes puffed?" Was Juwon's first question when she picked up the video call. "Her eyes are puffed?!" Kim Dal peeked from beside. Satomi rolled her eyes and took another sip of the coffee immediately regretting. The cold had worsened the taste of the already bad coffee.
"You are coming back aren't you? Your university is about to take a long break..." Kim Dal chirped. Satomi nodded. She stacked up all the corrected answer sheets that she would have to distribute today in an hour before the summer vacations started. "Can you please convince Juwon to not miss her dentist appointment? Her fear is irritating me." Juwon hit the side of Dal's head.
"Do you plan to live with this pain Juwon-ah?" Satomi laughed. She picked up the phone and her bag, she paid for the gutter flavoured coffee and exited the café. "It doesn't hurt! Dal is exaggerating!" Juwon defended herself poorly. Satomi listened to Juwon and Dal's bickering for a few more minutes and then hung up.
The university students greeted their teacher as she walked past them. Satomi needed a break from all the professor duties and she was absolutely looking forward to the summer breaks.
"Professor can we visit you during the break in case we have doubts?" Luca, a boy she considered to be a good student asked. The boy pushed back his glasses and looked up, eagerly waiting for an answer. "I'll not be at home during the vacations so if you have any doubts, text me or in case of emergency, emergency only. You can call me." The boy looked down dejectedly, infact many students protested.
The bell rang which signified the end of the first semester. "Have a good vacation everyone! Complete the holiday assignments and be prepared for the Latin test after the holidays." The students started dismissing themselves and the class started emptying out. Satomi sighed and packed her bag and sighed loudly. Finally she was going home to her friends...

Hey everyone! This is the first chapter! As you might have noticed, this book will have flashbacks. Like this story will go in flashbacks and will have a juxtaposition between high-school Satomi and adult Satomi.
Also the bold is used to signify the use of other language than korean.
