The air between Yn and Spencer felt charged, laden with unspoken words and emotions that both of them had tried—and failed—to ignore. The unsub's threats had forced them into close proximity, reopening old wounds and stirring feelings they'd buried for years. Yet, with each lingering glance and every hesitant conversation, the tension between them grew, impossible to ignore.

That evening, Yn couldn't hold it in any longer. She found herself pacing her apartment, the weight of everything pressing down on her chest. She hadn't wanted to confront Spencer, to ask questions that could rip open wounds she had only just begun to mend. But the continued, pointed reminders from the unsub about their past were starting to gnaw at her, and she couldn't stay silent any longer.

She took a deep breath, steadying herself, and then called Spencer. When he answered, she said, "Can you come by? We need to talk. Really talk."

There was a pause on the other end before he responded, his voice quiet. "I'll be there soon."

When Spencer arrived, Yn opened the door and gestured him inside without a word. He looked at her with a mixture of curiosity and concern, sensing the seriousness of her tone. They sat down in her living room, the silence thick as Yn gathered the courage to say what she'd been holding in.

"Spencer," she began, her voice trembling slightly, "I can't keep pretending like everything's fine between us. This...thing, whatever it is, that's hanging over us—it's making it impossible to move forward."

Spencer looked down, fidgeting with his hands, his own guilt evident. He nodded slowly, as though he'd been waiting for this conversation, dreading it but knowing it was inevitable.

Yn took a deep breath, feeling her pulse quicken. "I need to know, Spencer. Did you ever...get over us?"

Her question hung in the air like a heavy weight, and Spencer's silence spoke volumes before he even answered. Finally, he looked up, his expression raw, and met her gaze.

"No," he admitted softly, his voice barely a whisper. "I tried, Yn. I really did. But...I couldn't. I never really moved on."

His words hit her like a wave, both satisfying and devastating, as if part of her had needed to hear it, even though she knew it would hurt. She looked away, trying to compose herself, fighting the flood of emotions that his confession had stirred.

"But there's more, isn't there?" she asked, forcing herself to meet his gaze again. Her voice was quiet, but there was an unmistakable edge to it. "There's something you're not telling me."

Spencer's face paled, his shoulders tensing as he braced himself. He knew that this moment would come, that the truth would have to come out eventually, but he'd never expected it to be so painful.

"Yes," he admitted, his voice thick with guilt. "There's more. When you left... after you left, I made a terrible mistake."

Yn's heart pounded, dread beginning to seep into her veins. She didn't want to hear it, didn't want to confront the reality that something else had happened, something that had changed the course of their relationship forever. But she needed the truth, no matter how painful it would be.

"Just tell me," she said, her voice barely more than a whisper. "I deserve to know."

Spencer took a shaky breath, his hands clenching into fists as he forced himself to look her in the eye. "I... I cheated on you, Yn. With JJ."

The words landed like a physical blow, and for a moment, Yn felt as though the air had been sucked out of the room. She stared at him, struggling to process the confession, her mind reeling. JJ. Her friend, her colleague. The betrayal cut deep, sharper than any of the unsub's notes or taunts.
