Once Semi and y/n finally confessed their feelings, a comforting rhythm settled between them, a secret shared but not flaunted, something that belonged just to them. Their relationship was easy, almost effortless—a deepening of the friendship they had already built. They continued to share lunch in the school gardens, laughing over inside jokes, exchanging stories, and savoring the few moments they had alone. Every so often, she would reach across to straighten his collar or gently fix his hair, and he would catch her hand, giving it a quick squeeze before anyone could notice.

After practices, she would still wait for him, leaning against the gym entrance with that warm smile that never failed to make his heart skip. They'd walk side-by-side, talking about everything from volleyball to weekend plans. Sometimes, they'd sneak away to quiet spots on campus, finding refuge under the cherry blossoms or by the soccer field where no one would disturb them. These small moments—their fingers brushing as they walked, the laughter shared under starlit skies—felt more intimate than any grand gesture.

One day, as they sat together beneath the trees after practice, Semi leaned back, resting his head against the trunk, and sighed contentedly. "This... is nice," he murmured, closing his eyes as the spring breeze rustled the branches above. She was resting beside him, their hands intertwined, and he felt more at peace than he ever had. "I don't think I've ever felt this happy."

She turned to him, squeezing his hand with a soft smile. "Me too. It's... hard to believe it sometimes. Us, I mean. But I wouldn't change it."

They shared a quiet moment, and Semi felt his chest tighten, realizing how much he had come to care for her. It wasn't just the excitement or the thrill of sneaking around; it was the gentle, lasting kind of love he had never thought he'd find in high school.

But dating Ushijima's sister came with its own challenges. Ushijima had an almost comically unwavering view of the world, one that didn't include his setter dating his sister. She still hadn't told him, but she'd promised Semi they would when the time felt right.

That time came sooner than expected.

One evening after practice, as Semi and y/n were about to leave, they ran into Ushijima at the gym entrance. He looked at them both with his usual serious gaze, then glanced down at their intertwined hands. She froze, her hand instinctively tightening around Semi's, while he held his breath, waiting for what felt like inevitable judgment from the stoic ace.

Ushijima stared for a moment, his expression unreadable. "You two... are together?"

She nodded, meeting her brother's gaze with quiet resolve. "Yes, we are, Wakatoshi."

There was a moment of tense silence. Ushijima's gaze moved to Semi, scrutinizing him with an intensity that made him feel like he was back in the middle of a brutal drill. "Are you serious about this?"

Semi met his eyes, standing taller. "Yes, I am. I care about her a lot, Ushijima."

For a moment, Ushijima said nothing, then finally nodded. "Good. I trust you'll treat her well. Don't let this distract you from practice," he added, his gaze shifting to Semi.

Semi released a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "Of course."

After Ushijima walked away, they both broke into laughter, the relief palpable as they realized the hardest part was over. With her brother's quiet approval, their relationship finally felt real—like something they could hold onto without hiding.

In the following weeks, Semi found himself even more motivated during practice. Knowing she'd be watching, cheering for him like she always had, gave him a sense of purpose. Their relationship was no longer a secret, and the team quickly picked up on the shift, nudging Semi with teasing remarks whenever she visited the gym. Tendou, of course, was the worst, constantly tossing out dramatic winks and "romantic advice" that had them both laughing.

One afternoon after a particularly intense practice, she surprised him with a small bento box she'd packed just for him, with a note tucked inside that read, "For my favorite setter. Keep shining."

His heart swelled as he read it, tucking it carefully into his pocket like a treasure.

The seasons passed, and with every game, every practice, every moment they shared, their bond only grew stronger. She became his anchor, his source of comfort on days when he doubted himself. And to her, he was more than just her boyfriend—he was the one who saw her for who she was, outside the shadow of her older brother.

As graduation approached, they both felt the bittersweet reality of high school coming to an end. One night, as they sat beneath the stars in their favorite spot, after a bit of silence Semi spoke up "After graduation... I don't want this to end. I want us to keep going, wherever we end up. Together."

She looked at him, her smile a mixture of hope and certainty. "I want that too, Eita. No matter where we go, we'll make it

"How about we move in together after graduation?" He turned to her and asked

"Definitely" said y/n

And so, as they faced the future, they did so with a shared promise, knowing they had found something rare and real. With every step, every game, every laugh, they had built something together that would last far beyond high school—something that would carry them through whatever came next.
