Stephen awoke the next day feeling newly refreshed.

Like a new perspective had dawned on him; an ease off of his subconsciousness after all the drama from the night before.

But that was all over now, he thought as he began to sit up and get himself out of bed, ready to start a new day, like every other.

That was, until, he heard his phone buzz on his nightstand, and moved tiredly to pick it up as the cloak zoomed over to greet its master 'good morning', hovering by the side of the bed, reading the text with him.

"Great," Strange mused aloud to the cloak, "Briefing at the tower. I guess no morning meditations today, Cloaky."

(Y/n) had been up for a while, training in the gym, reading over mission files and doing extra research to aid in some cases. And she found herself taking a physical, and mental, break in the kitchen, grabbing a spoon from a nearby drawer to stir her freshly made iced matcha when she heard her phone vibrate on the countertop.

And she sighed, seeing her schedule only grow busier with a new mission briefing in a couple minutes.

So, picking up her coffee, she began towards one of the meeting rooms a couple floors up, walking over to wait for the elevator. And she was pleasantly surprised to see its doors slide open to reveal one sorcerer supreme inside, on his way up too.

"Ah- Morning, Strange."

"Good morning, (Y/l/n)."

They shared a smile as (Y/n) moved in, finding a space next to him as the lift continued to carry them up.

"You here for the brief too?" she asked, moving to take a sip of her drink.

"Mhm." Stephen nodded, turning to see the glass lower from her lips, "Is that... matcha?"

(Y/n) smirked, and nodded, "Is there a problem with that?"

"No- I just," He let loose a chuckle before continuing, "I didn't realise you guys drank anything other than coffee."

"For the most part, that's true. Especially when it comes to Stark and Pietro." She giggled, taking a moment to swirl the liquid as some of the ice had started to melt, "Sometimes I think their blood is part caffeine with how much coffee they seem to drink."

They shared an amused smile as (Y/n) offered her glass to him, making him feel slightly surprised by the gesture before he kindly accepted and took a small sip.

"Mmm," He hummed, passing the cold drink back to her, "That's nice."

And the lift opened up, finally having reached the floor where the briefing was being held. The two stepped out almost in sync.

"Oh- before I forget, I just wanted to say," Stephen slowed his step, gently grabbing her arm to slow her down too, turning her attention around to him, "Thanks again, for last night." He smiled, his gaze warm and appreciative that he had someone like her to help him through his problems like last night, "Just let me know when you need my clearance, and I'll be here to return the favour."

(Y/n) smiled, a gentle nod acknowledging his appreciation and offer, before the two continued towards the meeting room, opening the door to find Tony, Natasha and Steve already seated and waiting.

"Morning you two." Rogers greeted, Nat smiling her good morning greeting towards them while Tony sat quiet, his sunglasses clearly hiding the hungover state he now found himself miserably in.

The two nodded back with a small smile, before registering such a small group for the mission.

"Is this all?" Stephen asked, his voice curious about the situation that he was about to be presented with.
