Chapter 32: 100 Years P6

Azriel and Ezra caused quite a scene, but they were put in their place quickly enough.

Azriel stepped back around the table and returned to his seat. Afterward, the meeting went smoothly. Kye and Athy laid out plans to both restore the satellites to a comfortable place, and discover the cause behind the siphoning. Afterward, Kye invited everyone at the meeting to join her to the world gate in the city below.

Before leaving the meeting room, Kye eyed her brothers. "You two, go home. You have your own responsibilities to take care of. If you want to have a good relationship with me, start by not releasing anyone from Eden. There's a reason why Eden exists. After that, start by learning to accept that souls here in the afterlife are real. The living world is merely the starting point. It's called the afterlife, not the afterdeath. The people here are very much alive. Think about it and we'll talk."

They didn't say a word. Both grunted and left the meeting room. Their mana signatures disappeared soon after. Eve gave Kye and Sanae a smile before vanishing. Kye then made a portal to the world gate in the city and led everyone through.

"So this is what the Athas World Gate is like," Atalante said as they entered. The facility was enormous, as big as the entire royal academy, but none of the gates were functioning. It was similar to the gate facilities in Atlantis, Arslade, Drachen City, and New Tokyo, just with many more gates of varying sizes.

"The smaller gates are connected to various places around Greater Elysium," Kye explained. "This is the central gate plaza, and these gates all go to the Grand Duchies. The other four gates around the nexus hold gates that go to archduchies and duchies. Counties and lower are accessed through gates in their corresponding capitals. Not unlike how the gates in Atlantis are set up. And of course, there are customizable gates in each location for royals and archnobles to go to wherever they want, though only archnobles used them since royals could teleport anywhere. But I digress."

Sanae pointed at the five largest gates, which were set up in a ring around the perimeter of the facility. "Those go to the satellites. One for Atlantis has not been made yet, so..." She held up her hand and began glowing with silver aether. Soon, the entire ring began to glow with silver aether until none of the gates could be seen. Once the glowing stopped, there were six gates, their spacing adjusted to fit. "Now we need only turn them on."

Everyone was impressed at how much power she had just used. "Sanae sweetie, that was incredible," Layla said. "How in the world can you wield that much mana now?"

She smiled apologetically. "Everyone that went into the portal trained for a hundred years. We're all quite powerful now."

"To think you could grow that much in only a hundred years. That's more than I can wield. Quite a bit more."

"Yeah. Anyway." Sanae eyed Kye, and they returned to the task at hand.

"Adaal," Kye said.

"Of course." The burly man held out his hand toward the gate labeled 'Olympus' and channeled aether. Kye did the same, and soon the gate began to glow bright red.

"Noah."

The governor did the same as his peer, and soon the gate labeled 'Oceanus' began to glow deep blue.

"Orion."

Kye repeated the process with the next governor, and the gate labeled 'Orthrys' began to glow bright orange. After, she repeated the process with Iris, and the Atlas gate glowed deep green. Then with Nephele, the Erytheia gate glowing deep yellow.

With one gate remaining, Kye turned to Atalante. "The process is simple. It's no different than setting up a gate between two places in Atlantis. Except we need to make the other gate before we proceed."

Sanae held out her hand to Atalante. "I'll take us there." Atalante nodded and took Sanae's hand. "<<Unlimited Teleport>>." A few minutes, the two returned.

"We're set. I expanded the facility there with Sanae's help."

"Good." Kye held her hand toward the last gate, labeled 'Atlantis', and Atalante followed her lead. "Same as you've done before." The two channeled aether to the gate, and it began to glow bright blue. "These gates will now be accessible to governors and their entourage. Anyone with a governor's permission will have no issues using these gates. I trust there won't be any issues with allowing governors to send envoys to each other's domains." She didn't wait for a response. "Finally, I have one more place I want to show you all to. And that is..."

She glanced at Aliana, who quickly drew her katana and slashed a hole in space with her void magic. The black-haired girl morphed the hole into a door and opened it. "This way." She stepped through, after which everyone followed. Kye coated the door in silver aether to allow any that couldn't enter normally to go through the door. On the other side, an entire city had been created within a dome.

The envoys from the other satellites knew exactly where they were. Nephele was the first to point it out, "Is this the void? The same that exists beneath Elysium?"

Kye nodded. "Correct. This area of the void is underneath Athas."

Before the meeting, before the hundred years in the past, Aliana had done a lot of work on the void palace to the point that she had created an entire city. It was like a blank slate, and for a mostly mute person with a lot of creativity, she was able to express herself very easily there.

She had built a palace right away when she first discovered the void and expanded on it whenever she had free time. Flexing her creativity by molding the place was also a good way to train her mana, since it took an immense degree of focus and discipline.

When the meeting group stepped through the portal, and after Kye confirmed where they were, Aliana asked her a question. "Princess, may I make some adjustments? I will include a facility to place more portals."

"You already surmised I want to add more portals?"

"Yes, Princess. I believe that to be the case, considering you have brought the governors here. However, I will not make those portals in the palace. I will make them in the city."

"Yes, that's appropriate. The portals in the palace all lead to our private residences. It would be undue to have portals there that lead elsewhere." Kye smiled and gave her permission.

In the blink of an eye, she blanketed the entire city in her mana. The hundred years of intense training had seen her powers grown significantly. It took her mere seconds to move the various islands around and create a new one with a facility to install portals.

"Well done," Kye said. Everyone else watched in awe. The audience that knew her but did not know the extent of their hundred years of training was in shock at how much she'd grown. The audience that did not know her was shocked at how easily she manipulated the mana in the void.

"My King, how in the world..." Adaal couldn't finish his own sentence.

Kye shook her head. "It seems significant because such manipulation has only ever been seen publicly by me. We just spent one hundred years training, much of that training here in the void. We were much more casual about our training in Athas because we had significant amounts of time to do so."

"How much time would you equate that hundred years of training to in terms of Athas time?" Nephele asked.

"Around a million years, I think." Kye smirked. "Shall I show you how much I have advanced?"
