(Scene: Late morning at the family home. Yamin is sitting in her office, reviewing some documents for her business. Her phone buzzes, and it’s a text from Jin: “Meeting didn’t go well. Yoongi’s under a lot of pressure. I’m worried.” Yamin frowns, sensing the weight behind his words. She knows how serious the situation at the hospital is and how hard her brothers are trying to keep things afloat.)
(Yamin glances at her own financial reports and suddenly gets an idea. She pauses, thinking it over for a moment, then pulls out her phone and makes a call.)
Yamin: (on the phone) Hi, this is Yamin. Can you send me the most recent revenue reports for the last quarter? And the projections for the next six months? Thanks.
(As she ends the call, a determined look crosses her face. She has a plan, but it’s risky.)
---
(Scene: Later that day at the hospital. Yoongi is in his office, staring at the endless pile of financial reports, his frustration clear. Jin walks in, looking equally stressed.)
Jin: The board’s pushing for more drastic cutbacks, Yoongi-ah. They don’t think we’ve done enough. Some of the department heads are talking about walking out if their staff gets hit too hard.
Yoongi: (rubbing his temples) I know. But we can’t keep the hospital running without cutting costs somewhere. If we don’t get the budget under control, we’ll have to let people go.
Jin: (sighing) It’s a no-win situation. No matter what we do, people are going to get hurt.
Yoongi: I won’t let anyone lose their job, hyung. But I don’t know how much longer we can keep this up without something changing.
(Just then, there’s a knock on the door. Yamin steps inside, holding a folder.)
Yamin: Oppa, Jin-oppa, can I talk to you both for a minute?
Yoongi: (glancing up, surprised to see her) What’s up, Yamin-ah?
Jin: Something wrong?
Yamin: No. I’ve been thinking about the hospital’s situation, and I have an idea.
(Yoongi and Jin exchange a look, curious but slightly cautious.)
Yoongi: (sitting up straighter) What kind of idea?
Yamin: I know the hospital’s struggling with finances, and you’re worried about having to cut staff or reduce salaries. I’ve seen how much you two care about the people who work here, and I know how important their jobs are to them. That’s why... I want to help.
Jin: (frowning slightly) What do you mean, help?
Yamin: (opening the folder she brought and laying out some papers) I’ve reviewed my own financials, and my business has been doing really well this past year. I can cover part of the staff salaries for the next few months, just to help the hospital get through this rough patch. At least until the financial situation stabilizes.
Yoongi: (shocked, his eyes widening) Yamin-ah, that’s... a lot of money. You can’t—
Yamin: (cutting him off gently but firmly) I can. And I will. It’s my way of supporting you both. I know how much this hospital means to you, and I know how much the staff relies on their jobs. If losing staff is the only option to save the hospital, then I’m not going to stand by and let that happen. This is important to me too, oppa.
Jin: (looking at the papers in disbelief) Yamin, this is... beyond generous. But are you sure you want to take this on? It’s a huge commitment.
Yamin: (nodding firmly) I’m sure. I’ve already spoken to my financial team, and we’ve worked out how much I can contribute without affecting my own business. It’ll be tight, but we’ll make it work.
Yoongi: (still in shock, his voice soft but serious) Yamin-ah, I don’t know if I can accept this. It’s too much. You shouldn’t have to take on our burden.
Yamin: (reaching out and placing a hand on Yoongi’s shoulder) Oppa, this isn’t just your burden. It’s ours. We’re family, remember? You always tell me to rely on you when things get tough. Now it’s your turn to let me help.
(Yoongi stares at her for a moment, clearly touched but conflicted. He’s not used to being the one receiving help.)
Yoongi: (sighing, finally giving in) I don’t know what to say. Thank you, Yamin-ah.
Jin: (smiling softly) I think we both owe you a huge thank you. This could buy us the time we need to get things back on track.
Yamin: (grinning slightly) You don’t owe me anything. I’m just doing what I can to help.
(Yoongi stands up and pulls Yamin into a rare, tight hug. He’s not one for emotional displays, but this time, he can’t help it.)
Yoongi: (quietly) You have no idea how much this means.
Yamin: (smiling, hugging him back) I think I do, oppa.
---
(Scene: A few days later. Word has spread around the hospital about Yamin’s contribution, and the mood among the staff has shifted. People are more optimistic, knowing that their jobs are safe, at least for the time being. Yoongi and Jin are in Yoongi’s office, going over the revised financial plans, their faces showing more relief than they’ve had in weeks.)
Jin: (looking at the reports) With Yamin’s help, we won’t need to lay anyone off. We can keep the departments running smoothly, at least for the next few months. That should give us time to figure out long-term solutions.
Yoongi: (nodding) I can’t believe she did this. It’s more than I ever expected.
Jin: (smiling) She really stepped up, didn’t she? I guess we’re not the only ones who want to protect this place.
Yoongi: (smiling softly) She always surprises me. Just when I think I’ve got her figured out, she does something like this.
Jin: (teasing) Maybe you need to stop underestimating her, Yoongi-ah.
Yoongi: (chuckling) Yeah, maybe I do.
---
(Scene: That evening at home. The family is gathered around the living room, relaxing after dinner. Yoongi and Jin are both in lighter spirits, and the siblings can sense the change.)
Hobi: You two look a lot less stressed today. Things going better at the hospital?
Yoongi: (nodding) Yeah. Things are looking up, thanks to Yamin-ah.
Jungkook: Noona? What did she do?
Jin: She offered to cover part of the staff salaries to help us get through the financial rough patch.
Tae: (surprised) Wait, seriously? That’s huge!
RM: (smiling proudly) I’m not surprised. That’s just how noona is.
Yamin: (blushing slightly, shrugging) It wasn’t a big deal. I just wanted to help.
Yoongi: (seriously but warmly) It was a big deal, Yamin-ah. You saved us from having to let people go. Don’t downplay it.
Yamin: (grinning) Okay, fine. Maybe it was a little bit of a big deal.
Jin: More than a little bit.
Hobi: You really came through, noona. We’re proud of you.
Jungkook: Yeah, I always knew you were awesome, but this takes it to another level.
Yamin: (laughing softly) Thanks, guys.
(As the conversation continues, the warmth and support among the siblings is clear. They’re closer than ever, and the challenges they’ve faced have only made their bond stronger. Yamin smiles, knowing that no matter what happens, they’ll always have each other’s backs.)
