The sun was filtering through the windows, casting a warm glow over the breakfast table where you and Lucius sat, the world feeling beautifully still for a moment. You reached for your spellphone, finally turning it back on, and almost immediately, it buzzed with notifications that seemed endless.
You scrolled through quickly, eyebrows raising as you looked over the messages and comments. "Well, it looks like the ChantCast was... impactful, to say the least."
Lucius looked up from his coffee, a hint of a smirk on his lips. "Impactful? Is that all you're going to give me?" He reached across the table, hand brushing yours. "Let's hear it. What's the verdict from the world at large?"
You chuckled, reading a few comments aloud. "One says, 'About time someone talked about mental health in the magical community!' and this one..." You paused, lips quirking. "They say I'm... bold for tackling 'untouchable' subjects. I'm not sure if that's praise or a polite insult."
"Bold is exactly what you should be." Lucius's voice was filled with pride. "And if they don't understand that, well... they'll learn soon enough."
You skimmed more feedback, sharing bits and pieces with him. "A lot of people are excited for the next episode. Some are even suggesting future topics... Wow, there's one asking about a debate on blood purity." You looked up, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "It's funny—when I started, I didn't expect so much... response. I thought I'd just be speaking into the void, at least for a while."
His hand moved to yours again, this time more firmly. "There's no void when you're at the helm, Bea. People are drawn to you. They want to know what you have to say, and for good reason."
You smiled, warmth spreading through you at his encouragement. "Thank you. It's just... a lot to take in. I might need some help organizing all of this."
He smirked, a glint in his eyes. "The great Beatrix, asking for help? Should I mark the date?"
You rolled your eyes, laughing. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Then, scrolling a bit further, you found a familiar name and hesitated before showing him. "Oh, look. Severus left feedback too."
Lucius raised an eyebrow, interested. "Did he? And what does our dear Professor Snape have to say?"
You read it aloud, "'Impressive interview, but it would be prudent to proceed cautiously.' Classic Severus, always the voice of reason."
Lucius chuckled, rolling his eyes. "Of course. But if he's watching your every move, he'll see that you're more than capable of handling this."
You took a deep breath, feeling a surge of excitement—and maybe a bit of nervousness. "I hope so. This feels... bigger than I ever expected."
Leaning forward, Lucius placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "This is only the beginning, Bea. You're going to shake things up. And I'm right here, by your side."
You quickly open the Daily Prophet app, eyes widening as the front page loads. There, splashed across the screen, is a photo of you and Lucius from last night, hand in hand, looking every bit the glamorous couple. The headline reads, "Riddle's Heir and the Newly Single Lucius Malfoy: Power Couple or Controversy in the Making?"
Your heart skips a beat, and you glance up to see Lucius watching you with a raised eyebrow, clearly anticipating your reaction.
"Front page," you say, holding the screen up for him to see. "Seems we've made quite an impression."
A slow, amused smile spreads across his face. "They couldn't help themselves, could they?" He leans over, reading the headline and the opening line, which makes subtle allusions to the attention your ChantCast has been getting. "What do they say, exactly? Anything we should be... concerned about?"
