Third pov

There was a chatter in the dining room as all the members of the Morrow family sat together, eating.

"Have you heard anything about the deal with the Bakers?" Warren asked his brother, Damien while sipping on his drink.

Damien was the CEO of his dad's company and the owner after his death 3 years ago.

He shook his head, not in the mood to talk after an exhausting day at work. He couldn't wait for the dinner to be over.

Suddenly his phone rang and everyone in the room fell silent. Damien was basically their father figure as their actual dad, Alexander never had time for them. They respected him.

Damien answered the call. "Hello is this Mr. Damien Morrow I'm talking to?" The woman on the other side asked. "It is him." Damien replied.

"Mr. Morrow, my name's Talia Jackson, I'm a social worker, we have your half sister, 16 years old Alexandra Morrow here, her grandparents just died and she doesn't have anyone else to live with. If you refuse to take guardianship of her, she'll have to go live in an orphanage or a foster home."

Damien was too stunned to talk. He had a sister? Half-sister? And she lived with her grandparents. How did he not know if he had a half sister. Why did his parents not tell him?

"Mr. Morrow are you still here?"

"Yes. Yes. I'm here." Damien cleared his throat trying to make the rational decision.

"I'm waiting for the answer Mr. Morrow."

Everyone in the room was staring at Damien with frowns on their faces. They couldn't hear what the woman was saying from the other side.

"I need a few minutes, I'll call you back." Damien replied and cut the call.

"What was that about?" Ellie asked while eyeing him warily.

Damien glanced at every single person in the room and sighed. "It was a social worker. Turns out we have a half sister."

"What?!"

"Half sister?"

"It's a lie!"

Three voices spoke while others were shocked and stayed silent.

"It's not a lie, Caleb." Damien said in a firm tone. It can't be a lie.

"So we all agree wholeheartedly that our father is the parent we have in common." Warren broke the uncomfortable silence while everyone nodded their heads. They all knew what kind of person their father was.

"So, she's the reason why mother left." Jonathan snorted.

"Mother left because father was cheating on her." Ellie replied to her brother.

Jonathan rolled his eyes at her sister. He didn't even understand why she was here. She was married, she married a man none of the brothers approved of. She should stick with him. He never had a relationship with her and he wasn't planning to. And he definitely didn't need another cry baby sister.

"Why did they call?" Oliver turned to face Damien who had a frown on his face. He didn't know what to do. He didn't want his half sister to live in an orphanage where she would be lacking things.

"She was living with her grandparents but now they died and they asked me to take guardianship of her."

"You got to be joking!" Jonathan was the first to react.

"Why can't she just live with her mom?" Warren asked annoyed.

"She's probably dead." Ellie answered and stood up. "Damien you have to adopt her, she doesn't have anywhere else to go, she'll be all alone otherwise."

"Why don't you adopt her then?" Caleb joined in on the conversation.

"Yeah, and then we won't have to look at her face every single day." Jonathan added, nodding at his twin's words.

Ellie stayed silent and kept looking at Damien to know what he'd decide. She was hoping he'd give their half sister a chance. She could adopt her as well. But she lived with her husband and she didn't think that the teen girl would appreciate living with a stranger who wasn't related to her.

Damien closed his eyes for a moment and got up. He had to step up for his siblings when he was a kid himself because his dad couldn't care less about the kids he decided to bring into this world and his mother was busy planing revenge on her cheating husband and a new life for herself.

Damien opened his eyes. But now it was different. He was 28, he wasn't a kid anymore. If he took care of his siblings when he was a kid then he could definitely take care of one sister now.

"She'll live with us." He said in a tone that let everyone know there would be no arguments about this. Caleb and Jonathan snorted while others didn't have a reaction at all.

Ellie smiled and patted her brother's shoulder. "It's the right decision."

"Don't touch me." He told her as his eyes darted to her hand on his shoulder. He didn't like people touching him.

Ellie removed her hand immediately. She tried not to show her disappointment and even if she was used to being treated like this by her brothers, that didn't mean she would ever get used to it.

Damien took care of all of his siblings except Ellie. She was the closest one to their mother. Even if Alora (their mother) didn't have time for her sons, she'd always try to be there for Ellie because she always dreamed of having a baby girl. Maybe this was the reason why Damien disliked her and didn't spend as much time with her.

Damien went to make a phone call while the boys started cleaning up the table. Even if they were rich they didn't like having unnecessary people in their house. It was only them, the 5 brothers now that Ellie was married.

After a while Damien came back, he looked troubled. "They want me to pick Alexandra up tomorrow morning but I have an important meeting, I can't miss it and neither can Warren."

"Alexandra?" Oliver asked with a hint of a smile. "Her name's Alexandra?"

Damien nodded. "I'll pick her up." Ellie told him and Damien gave her a nod of appreciation.
