One week after going mad, Antoine, who was cultivating in the cave hidden by the waterfall, suddenly opened his eyes and burst out laughing.
"HAHA, I did it! I finished the first step of the foundation construction."
Antoine, in a frenzy, jumped up. In his joy, he forgot the recent strength gains from his cultivation this week and found himself more than 5 meters off the ground. Fortunately, the cave ceiling was high enough that he didn't hit his head.
After landing awkwardly, he took a few seconds to calm down before checking the gains from his recent progress.
He headed to an area where he had equipment to test his various bodily parameters, such as his strength and speed. He had set up a testing room after observing his recent strength gains.
He quickly performed each test before being astonished.
"10 times, I am now 10 times stronger than an average human. Haha, I am invincible in this world."
"If I finish the foundation construction, will I be stronger than Superman?"
Antoine, lost in his musings, returned to sit on his meditation rock.
However, as he sat down, he noticed that the lighting in the cave was quite dim, indicating to Antoine that the sun was setting. He instantly stood up, talking to himself.
"Well, tomorrow I will start the next step. According to the manuscript, I need to strengthen my organs and bones using my IQ to allow them to adapt to the body's increase in strength."
"I also need to check the other books in the beginner's pack."
Antoine passed the waterfall and ran down the mountain. Arriving quickly at the cave where he stayed, he tidied up before going to bed.
As he fell asleep, not far from the summit where he resided, a strange portal, 4 meters high and 3 meters wide, appeared silently, seeming to tear through space.
...
In the sky above the Himalayas, a ten-year-old boy with a shaved head looked out the window of a private jet at the incredible view before him. His father, the founder of one of the largest commercial groups in the world, was sending him to a prestigious private school in China to study.
"Mr. Paul, we will land in approximately 2 hours. Do you need anything to pass the time?"
A young flight attendant, noticing that the young man looked rather depressed, spoke to him in German.
However, although Paul clearly heard her, he didn't react and continued to look out the window. The young attendant, slightly embarrassed by his lack of response, quickly returned to her seat.
Paul, on the other hand, continued to gaze at the Himalayas, which were thousands of meters below. As he admired the landscape, he noticed a strange shape that intrigued him. Upon closer observation, he realized that the shadow seemed to grow larger and was rapidly approaching the plane.
Feeling slightly uneasy, he hurriedly asked the attendant and the co-pilot to look out the window.
At that moment, the shadow had come close enough to be easily seen. Paul, seeing the creature that resembled a dragon, quickly identified the monster. He had once read a description of it in a fantasy book he had read as a child, and the creature approaching matched that description perfectly.
"A wyvern, how is that possible? It's a fictional creature!"
said Paul, shocked to see a fantasy monster in the real world. Panicked, he shouted authoritatively at the co-pilot.
"Tell the pilot to speed up! If that monster catches us, we're all dead!!"
The co-pilot, who had also seen the strange creature rapidly approaching, rushed back to the cockpit, explaining to the pilot in a frightened manner what he had just seen.
Quickly, the plane accelerated to reach its top speed.
In the cabin, Paul, horrified, watched the wyvern get closer and closer to the plane, quickly catching up.
Finally, the fateful moment arrived, and the wyvern violently struck the jet, its claws tearing through the cabin like butter. Due to the sudden hole, the inside of the plane experienced a violent depressurization while Paul, the attendant, and all unsecured objects were sucked out.
Paul reacted quickly, managing to grab onto one of the seats and avoid being pulled out. The attendant, however, was not so lucky and was sucked out of the plane without any chance to react.
As he struggled to save his life, Paul watched in horror as the attendant was caught by the wyvern's jaws, which severed her in two with one of its fangs. The wyvern quickly swallowed the lower half of the attendant's body before releasing the jet and diving after the upper half, which continued to fall down.
The force of the impulse the wyvern used to fetch the rest of its meal broke the jet in two. The rear of the jet detached and inevitably fell towards the ground below. Paul, desperate, who was clinging fiercely to his seat, finally let go out of exhaustion. As he fell, he saw the wyvern, which had already caught up to the upper half of the attendant, heading toward the part of the plane that was miraculously still gliding through the sky.
In a matter of seconds, it caught up with the plane, which had lost a lot of speed. Paul then saw the monster's jaws slip through one of the holes in the fuselage and emerge holding the pilot between its teeth. It quickly devoured him, splattering blood and organs everywhere in the air. Once consumed, he saw the head plunge back into the plane before emerging with the co-pilot. Fortunately, he didn't have to witness this macabre scene again.
Paul, falling faster and faster, finally passed through a dense layer of clouds, hiding him from the wyvern that had just eaten the other occupants of the plane.
As the snowy forests of the Himalayas approached closer and closer, Paul, terrified at the thought of dying, managed to suppress his screams, preferring to die from the fall than to be eaten alive.
After a few seconds during which the memories of his short but happy life played in his mind, he collided with the snowy branches of a large tree. Reflexively curling up into a ball, he absorbed most of the impact with his legs.
At that moment, he couldn't help but let out a scream due to the pain from his bones breaking and his skin being torn by the branches.
After having part of his fall cushioned by the branches, he finally ended his descent in the soft snow beneath the tree, sinking deeply into it.
Paul, ravaged by the extreme pain he felt, felt his consciousness slowly fading away. He couldn't help but curse the sky for his bad luck before closing his eyes, preventing him from dying without pain.
Much lower down the same mountain, Antoine, who was sleeping deeply, was suddenly awakened by the barking of Custos.
