2. Ishan’s New Ship.
The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow inside KL Rahul’s house. Shubman blinked awake, the events of the previous night gradually coming back to him.
He’d dropped off a very drunk Sriya at her cousin’s place, only to be invited to stay the night since it was already late.
With a sense of mild curiosity and a touch of awkwardness, he found his way downstairs. The comforting aroma of breakfast and the clinking of utensils hinted at a busy morning in the kitchen.
As he entered the dining area, he spotted Athiya pouring herself a glass of water, while KL was busy washing up.
“Good morning, Athiya Bhabhi. KL Bhai,” Shubman greeted, a bit sheepishly. He suddenly felt like he was trespassing on their routine.
KL glanced over, grinning as he wiped his hands on a towel. "Morning, Shubman! Good sleep, I hope?”
Shubman nodded, chuckling. “Yeah, yeah…sorry for crashing here unannounced.”
Athiya turned to him with a warm smile. “Oh, please! You're family, Shubman. Besides, anyone who takes on the task of handling a tipsy Sriya deserves a medal—and breakfast,” she said, gesturing toward the table. “Have a seat, it’s almost ready.”
He laughed, a bit more relaxed. “I don’t know about a medal, but breakfast sounds great.” He took a seat at the dining table, glancing around. “I, uh, don’t think Sriya will be up anytime soon. She was really…enjoying herself last night.”
KL snorted, joining him at the table. “That girl can definitely hold her drink—until she can’t,” he said with a smirk. "Honestly, she gives me more stress than a last-over chase.”
Shubman laughed, shaking his head. “I think she called herself the ‘Queen of Chaos’ at one point.”
Athiya chuckled as she placed plates on the table. “Oh, that sounds like her, alright. Last time she went out, she somehow ended up convincing her friends to crash a wedding party. We had strangers asking us if we were her guardians.”
KL rolled his eyes, though his smile betrayed his amusement. "Yeah, it’s like every time she’s here, we have to be on standby for some unique situation.”
Shubman grinned. “I can imagine. She definitely has a way of keeping things… interesting.”
Footsteps approached, and Shubman looked up to see Sriya entering the dining area. Her hair was slightly tousled from sleep, and there was a trace of last night’s mischief still dancing in her eyes, though she blushed lightly when she noticed Shubman watching her.
