Charlotte's POV:

He's fine, he's fine, he's fine,

"Missions can take hours, he's fine"

"He's done this for years, he's fine"

"He can handle himself, he's fine"

"Although Captain Man is out of town"

"And he doesn't have superpowers"

"What if he's hurt?"

"Or dead"

My thoughts are racing with possible reasons as to why Henry is not back yet. I'm sitting in the Man Van right now, overcome with worry. He went to go fight Dr. Minyak almost 4 hours ago. Ray is in the Bahamas for a "much needed vacation," and left without any further details. Schwoz is at the Man Cave trying to fix the tubes which Ray broke before he left, and Jasper is being useless and won't answer my calls.  I've been calling the police, but it keeps going to voicemail, cause the cops in the town are actually useless.

I look at the clock, and its now 12:56.

"4 more minutes, then I'm going in."  I try to tell myself confidently.

1 minutes passes by.

Then 2 minutes.

12:59.

I hear some ruckus coming from outside the van. I hold my breath and listen intently for anything. A bash comes from the right side of the van and I jump. The curtains on the windows prevents me from seeing whats going on, but I don't need to worry about that for long. The door slams wide open and I see Henry.

But my happiness is short lived, he's still fighting off Dr. Minyak, and he looks terrible. He has blood staining his uniform, the whole thing is almost crimson. His face is scratched and I can tell he's fading. I start the van and the engine rumbles to life.

"KID DANGER, GET IN!" I scream at him. He gives on last punch before toppling into the van. I slam my foot onto the gas pedal and skrt out of the alley. We're flying down the streets of Swellveiw, heading back to Junk n Stuff, but we still have a good 30 minutes before we get their, and Henry is loosing blood fast. The door is still wide open, and I can hear Henry groaning in the back.

I see a Nacho Ball parking lot and pull into it. I climb into the back, shut the door, then sit by Henry to asses the situation. He has multiple slashes all the way up and down his body, some deeper than others. But the worst one is right across is abdomen. The blood is pooling on the floor now. I kneel next to him and brush his messed up hair out of his face.

"Hey hey Henry, your gonna be ok, ok? His eyes are shut and his breathing is heavy. "Hey, hey look at me Henry, you need to stay awake." He slowly cracks his eyes open and looks at me. "Good good, ok I'm going to get the first aid and wrap you up." I stand up and search for the box, frantically yanking open drawers and cupboards and every hidden compartment, but I nowhere to be found.

"Charlotte," Henry says weakly.  I look back to him and his face is sickly pale, he's now surrounded by blood and is barley breathing. I rush over to him and kneel in his pool of blood. He grabs my hand and I can feel his weakening pulse. He's gonna die and there nothing I can do. This is no time to cry but I feel tears slipping down my face.

"Charlotte," He says again.

"Yes Henry, I'm right here." He shakily raises his hand and points to something under the table. I look up through blurry vision and see the first aid kit. My heart pounds with adrenaline as I scramble over to get it. The contents hold a bunch of gauze and wrap which I remove. I need to tackle the big cut first.

"Henry, I need to take of your shirt." I tell him as I start to unzip the front of it. The wound is still bleeding profusely. I grab my water bottle from the front and pour the water along the slash. Henry hisses in pain. I grab gauze and start to pack it into the cut. I help him sit up so I can get the rest of his shirt off, then I wrap his abdomen to secure it in place. I continue to bandage the other bleeding cuts along his arms, as Henry drinks the leftover water.

"He's stable now, he's going to be fine."

"Ok I'm going to get you back to the Man Cave, just sit tight and stay awake." I go to turn away but he grabs my arm.

"Thank you Charlotte." He croaks out.

"Thank me when your better." I give him a weak smile, and speed back to the Man Cave.

On the way back I called Schwoz, Ray and Jasper, but none of them answered, so I'm trying to help Henry back to the Man Cave by myself, and its not easy. He's barley conscious, and I'm failing to help him walk. We make it through the doors of Junk n Stuff before Henry's legs give out, taking me down with him. I land on top of his chest and he groans.

"Come on Henry, just as few more steps to the elevator." I try to pull him up, but he dosn't budge.  "Henry please come on." I shake his shoulders, but his eyes are shut and his body is limp. "Gosh dang it Henry, please, please, stay with me." I shake him some more, but still no response.

I swear Schwoz better be in the Man Cave. I grab onto Henry's foot and drag him to the elevator, streaking blood throughout the store. I get us both in the elevator, and hit the floor. The door opens and the man cave lights are all off. I let out a whimper as I run into the room.

"Schwoz! Are you here?" No answer. "Schwoz!" Nothing. I run back to the elevator and pull Henry into the Man Cave. I get some ice water and throw it on Henry's face. He doesn't even stir.

"Schwoz please! anybody please." My voice gets weaker and I slump down on the ground next to Henry. My fault. Why am I not smarter? Why do I not know what to do? Henry's gonna die because I'm to incompetent. What am I going to tell Ray, or Jasper, or Schwoz or his family. I throw my arms around him and cry onto his bloody chest.

"Hey Char," I hear faintly. I look up and see him looking at me. I start crying harder. He's awake. "Hey I'm going to be ok. No tears until I'm actually dead." I start to laugh amidst my crying and hug him tighter.

"Tell me what to do." I whisper.

"I don't know." He says after a while.

"I've already called Ray, Schwoz and Jasper, but none of them answered. I obviously can't call an ambulance, I can't call your family, I'm not a doctor but I did the best I could do, I mean am I supposed to give you medication or stitch you up or give you food or water, I mean I don't know I just don't,"

"Hey Char slow down, you did amazing and Im so proud of you, now look at me." I pull back and stare into his eyes intently. "Schwoz usually takes his bubble bath at night so look for him there." I nod my head aggressively and run to bathroom. I hear faint music coming from behind the door, so I bang on it.

"SCHWOZ OPEN UP, HENRY'S HURT!!" I hear some foreign language being spoken, some shuffling around before Schwoz opens the door.

"What's wrong with Henry?" He asks me in his thick accent.

"I don't even really know, but he needs help now." We both run back to where Henry is laying on the ground. Schwoz asses him and helps him get too his feet. I stand watching as Schwoz takes him to the back somewhere.

I take a deep breath, glad my part is over, but a sudden wave of exhaustion overtakes me. I'm emotionally spent. I think about Henry, like I often do. If Henry died today, what would I do. I would have never gotten the chance to tell him how I feel. Maybe this is a sign that I need to tell him. I lay down on the booth and the last thing I see before I fall asleep was Henry's washboard abs covered in blood.
