Maeve
I don't know if it will show up at a notification but I added a small part to the end of this chapter!!!
I had a bright smile on my face and was about to walk into the art room when I saw something odd. Pa fighting with Johnny?
I stopped walking and stared ahead, hoping to understand their argument.
"What the hell, Patrick? I trusted you to bring her to school and keep your godamn hands off her." Johnny yelled at Patrick, and I saw a few heads turn towards them. Patrick looked equally frustrated as Johnny and threw his hands in the air before responding with his rebuttal.
"I didn't fucking do anything! I picked her up. We had some car trouble, and then we both walked into Tommen as well as can be." I stood there still, looking confused, hoping I wasn't the topic of their conversation.
"Jaysus, do you think I need this right now? The Boys Sheild is coming up, and I need everyone to be focused. We all know Maeve is a stickler for distracting my teammates."
There it was. The comment I knew was going to arise. Everyone has always told me that after the Pierce situation, Johnny still looked at me as his little sister, but I knew better. All he thought of me was a good-for-nothing slut.
"What the fuck's your problem Kav? You know Maeve's sorry for what happened with her and Pierce and that she'll never forgive herself for being the cause of us losing the final last year." Patrick's voice raised, and more students stopped as they watched. My heart wanted me to leave and never discover how Johnny truly felt about me, but my brain needed to know this information.
"Everyone knows it! No one's said it to her, but maybe it's time someone finally does. I'm done with her sticking her nose where it doesn't belong and laying under people she shouldn't be lying under." I could've seen steam come out of Johnny's ears with the rage coming out of him. My eyes filled with tears, and I stood there, looking down at the ground in shock.
"Oh fuck," I heard someone say lowly, and I looked up to see both Johnny and Patrick staring straight at me. I quickly turned on my heel and ran away from the hall. Tears dripped down my face. I ran to the P.E. Hall, where I ran into the girl's bathroom and locked myself in the last stall.
Johnny
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I repeated repeatedly as I ran my hands through my hair, and my tapped my knee anxiously. I've insulted people before. Some thing's I've said have been cruel, and I've just smacked them on the back, and we'd been fine. But this was so different and so much worse. I'd publicly called my little sister a slut to her face.
The minute I saw her, I just froze. I stared at her and watched her run away while guilt engulfed me, and now I felt like I was drowning in it. When I finally regained consciousness, I tried to run after her, but at that moment, a teacher saw the commotion in the hallways and ushered everyone to class.
Now, I was anxiously counting down the minutes until class ended to try to find her during our hour-long lunch break.
When the bell finally rang, I jumped out of my seat and ran out the door, ushering in a quick thank you to the teacher. I had no idea what I was thanking her for; I hadn't listened to her anything she'd said,
Okay, let's start in the third-year common room and ask if anyone's seen her. I walked in but didn't see anyone. I went to the cafeteria and saw Feely talking to Maeve's best friends.
