Adrenaline rushed through my veins, as if it were replaced by the water I just had a swig of. Another sip. Another sip. Another. Another. Another.
"Woah there, Shannon," your boyfriend, Niall said, "I love you and all, but I don't want you to throw up when you're doing what you do best," he said with a wink. "Maybe...second best." He cheekily hesitated.
Smiling you said, "Second best?!" you sarcastically scoffed, "What's the first?"
"What we do in bed," he said, giving yet another wink. Rolling your eyes, fear reddened your face as your number was called. A quick peck to the cheek is what Niall gave as goodluck. "You'll do fine, I'm here, now go! Shine like that little snowflake you are!" He said smiling.

Right on the spot. That's what I was. I felt like I did awful, no, scratch that, I did do awful. The boy I've been in love with forever kept on saying that I was perfect, just as always, but I'll never believe it; so I ignored it all. All I can see was the flashbacks on stage. Jump, step, jump..all done wrong. Awful. Awful. Awful!
Then, runners up were announced. No. 34 wasn't called; lucky you. That left 48/50 contestants vulnerable towards the gold; $1,000, you weren't really there for the money, you just loved doing Irish dances; it made you feel so energetic, someone else; obviously not you.

"And," the announcer continued, "the top 3 world champion Irish dancers are of these choices: Shannon (Y/L/N), (random name), (enemy)." He announced, so loud you felt like your eardrums could just burst. Did they just say her name? How dare they! You didn't even realize that.
"In 3rd place we have, contestant 12, (the random name). Please claim your prize; a bronze medal.
In 1st place, we have," the person announced. By now, you felt all tension on you; especially when Niall placed the palm of his hand on your thigh, whispering, "I have hope in you, it better be you, snowflake." You giggled at the things he says that make you blush.
"Contestant 34!" your whole world dropped, as you went upon stage, grabbing your prizes, cheering, especially Niall who was running around, crazily, unsure as why. Gotta love that Irish boy.
