Your husband Harry had given you the day off of motherly responsibilities to go out with your mother, and while it had been fun you were dying to get home and see your little family. You walked through your large house, trying to listen to figure out where they were in the house. You climbed a flight of stairs, finally hearing a soft singing coming from the master bedroom.
You peeked your head in just enough to see Harry lying on your bed with your daughter laying on his bare chest, her legs tucked under her and her cheek pressed to his skin, mouth hanging slightly open and eyes softly shut. You went withdrew again, though, to listen to him sing.
"Isn't she lovely? Isn't she wonderful...?" He sang softly, clearly still singing his daughter to sleep. His voice slowed though, and you peeked in again to see his eyes shut as well, your daughter still perched just as she was a minute ago. You quickly took your phone out of your back pocket and snapped a picture of it, then retreated down the steps to let them sleep.

A couple hours later, you heard footsteps come down the stairs and make their way towards you in the living room. You looked up to see Harry in the doorway, your daughter held close to his chest like he was never going to let her leave his arms. He smiled at you, trudging in in his grey sweatpants and sitting next to you one the couch.
"How was your day, baby?" He asked, still holding the little girl against him. You told him all about your day, having a wonderful brunch with your mother and then going and getting much-needed massages together. He listened attentively, like he always did. "What were you and little Miss Styles up to today?" You asked him, and he sighed heavily.
"Well, first we got up and had breakfast. She had milk and I had cereal. Then we had tummy time, which I learned isn't a good idea right after breakfast because she spit it back up all over her blanket. So then we had to call my mum and ask her how to get the stain out. Then she took a nap while I ran a couple miles. Then we got up and I decided I needed a shower and she needed a bath so we got in the tub together, but I added too much soap and we flooded the bathroom," you raised an eyebrow at him but he kept going, "then we had lunch. She had milk and I had more cereal. Then we took a nap. And now we're here!"
"Sounds like a wonderful day," you smiled, and he beamed back at you. Your daughter whined a bit then, and Harry moved her from his chest to his strong hands, looking her over.
"What's wrong, baby girl?" He asked her, and she just smiled at him, letting out a giggle that visibly melted Harry. He moved her towards him then, giving her a big kiss on her cheek. She giggled again, nuzzling herself into his neck. "I reckon we're best mates, me and this one," he laughed, standing up with her. He walked away then, and from the kitchen you could hear him again, "isn't she lo-ovely...?"
