Chapter Ten: Silver Lake

***Christopher POV ***

My mate is sitting next to me in the car crying, and I feel so heartbroken for her.

I want to take her and place her in my lap while I drive to Silver Lake, my home.

I mind-linked my dad and told him that she was coming home with me and to ensure that everyone was in human form so my mate wouldn't get scared and run away from me.

Looking back on the events that just transpired, I have made mental notes on everything her family said. Having wolf hearing is a perk where I can hear from miles away.

On the other hand, my wolf has made a mental note to kill that so-called brother of hers. My wolf told me that the brother gave him possessive eyes, which showed him waiting to claim our mate.

I didn't argue with him and agreed that he needed to die.

My dad mind-linked me and asked how Elie was doing.

I looked at Elie, and all I see is a broken vessel of despair.

We finally arrived at Silver Lake...

I touched Elie on the head, waking her up to tell her that we had arrived.

When I noticed that she didn't want to get up, I carried her bridal style to the house.

I was welcomed by a worried Luna and Alpha, my mom and dad, seeing how she was in my arms.

I told them she was okay; it was just that she cried herself to sleep on the way here.

They breathed a sigh of relief.

After I had placed Elie on my bed, I came downstairs to talk to my parents about everything that happened.

I told my dad how Elie and I met, about the kiss, about Kay, and about how upset her adopted brother was when he found Elie with me.

I also told my dad about how Elie's adopted family are witches, not humans.

I heard the gasp from both my parents...

I told them that Mike put a barrier around the house made of Wolvsebane and how they tried to tell Elie the truth we all want to know...

My dad slams his fist on the table.
Shouting, "How dear they put Wolvsebane around the house and try to hurt my son and his future Luna; this means WAR!!!"

"Honey, calm down; remember, Elie is sleeping; you will scare her," my mother says.

"I am sorry, Peaches; it's just the beta is like a brother to me, and I just want to know what happened to him; he gave me no warning. No warning of him being in danger and needing help. I would have done anything for him and his family." My dad sobs...
