The moon hung low in the sky, casting a silver glow over the garden. Y/N sat on the wooden swing, her legs drawn up to her chest. The cool night air wrapped around her like a blanket, but it did little to ease the heaviness in her heart. It had been one of those days—filled with too much noise and not enough solace.
As she stared into the distance, a single tear slipped down her cheek. The weight of unspoken fears and insecurities felt like a stone in her stomach. She closed her eyes, willing herself to be stronger, but the tears kept coming.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned to see Harry approaching, his familiar silhouette illuminated by the moonlight. His soft expression turned concerned as he noticed her tear-streaked face.
"Hey, love," he said gently, settling onto the swing beside her. "What's wrong?"
Y/N shook her head, unable to find the words. Instead, she looked away, trying to hide the evidence of her pain. Harry, however, had always been attuned to her emotions. He reached out, his fingers brushing against hers, grounding her.
"You can talk to me," he urged, his voice low and comforting. "I'm here."
The dam broke. Y/N turned to face him, her heart racing as the words tumbled out. "I just feel so overwhelmed. Everything feels too much sometimes. I don't know how to handle it."
Harry listened intently, his gaze unwavering. He took her hand in his, squeezing it gently. "It's okay to feel like that. You're human, Y/N. You don't always have to be strong."
Her voice cracked as she continued, "I just don't want to let anyone down. I feel like I should have it all figured out by now."
"Who says you have to?" Harry countered softly. "Life isn't a straight line. It's messy, and that's what makes it beautiful. You're allowed to cry, to feel lost sometimes."
His words wrapped around her like a warm embrace. Y/N felt a flicker of comfort in the truth he spoke. She leaned her head on his shoulder, letting the tears flow freely now. Harry didn't say anything more; he simply stayed there, providing his presence, his warmth, as the stars twinkled above.
After a while, Y/N wiped her tears and took a shaky breath. "Thank you for being here, Harry. I don't know what I'd do without you."
He smiled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "You'll never have to find out. I'm always here, okay? Whenever you need me."
Y/N nodded, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. In that moment, she realized that vulnerability didn't mean weakness; it meant she had someone to share her burdens with. Together, they sat in silence, watching the stars, and for the first time that night, she felt a sense of peace.
Underneath the vast sky, she knew she could face whatever came next—one day at a time, with Harry by her side.
