The sun had started rising, yet I wanted nothing more than to do the opposite. Sadly I live with my mother and she had other plans for me.

"Agnès! Rise and shine! Early bird gets the worm!" She called out as she burst into my room.

I groaned as I pulled the blankets over my head. Her loud and optimistic voice in the morning was equivalent to a thousand needles. "Ma... I have no plans today, let me sleep in." I pleaded, almost incoherent.

"Oh don't be silly! Come on, Noe is waiting." She said and walked over to my bed. Mum pulled my blanket off of me, inviting the cold to embrace me. I sighed as I turned over, glaring softly at my smiling mother. "Bonjour Belle!"

I rolled my eyes before I sat up, running my hands through my hair in frustration. "Bonjour maman." I responded as I swiftly moved my legs to the side of the bed. "Ce serait bien mieux si ce n'était pas si tôt." I continued before jumping out of bed.

"Don't be like that Annie! It's not that early." She started as she put her hand on my cheek. The warmth and kindness she was showing me was short lived. "It's not ladylike to jump out of the bed like that, I've told you that." She said before she ran off.

I couldn't help but to laugh at mum's antics. It was like a routine by now, yet my body couldn't keep up with it even though it was the same every day. She would run around the house, singing to wake us all up. If we didn't wake up, she'd barge into our rooms and make sure we woke up.

I brushed down my white nightgown as I made my way downstairs. Noe was already downstairs, shamelessly flirting with our new housemaid. Our fifth one this year. Noe had managed to seduce each and every one of them, which led mum to fire them.

"I made you some waffles, Noe..." Claire mumbled, her cheeks getting brighter and brighter. I could see that she was trembling, not even able to look Noe in the eyes. Noe was eating it all up, his amusement was immeasurable.

With a sly grin, he started putting whipped cream on his waffles. He started cutting them up before he spoke. "Thank you Claire. Maybe some other time you can make me something else." He licked his lower lip at the end of his sentence, his gaze clearly undressing her.

I rolled my eyes before I took a seat. Claire was obviously trying to not fall to her knees as she served my chocolate pancakes to me. "Leave the poor girl alone, Noe." I said as I gave her a grateful smile, which she immediately returned.

Mum soon appeared out of the hallway, walking up behind Noe and smacking him on the top of his head. Noe groaned and put his hand on top of his head, soothing over her blow. Mum sat down next to him and shot him a glare. "N'as-tu pas honte?! C'est notre cinquième servante! Arrête de tremper ta bite partout!" She scolded.

Noe simply rolled his eyes at mum ending his fun. I, however, giggled at Noe receiving his daily lecture about his overly promiscuous ways.

"Noe this is serious! Marriage is very important! Think of the influence you set for your little sister! Do you want her to become a spinster?!" Mum started, Noe silently mouthing along every word she said. "And you're the-" Mum didn't finish her sentence before Noe intervened.
