Final Chapter: him and I

The night was quiet as Jimin walked out of Park Music Entertainment’s building, the familiar lobby casting long shadows over the polished floors. He was exhausted, but a pleasant kind of tired, the sort that comes from spending a day doing what he loved. Still, there was one thing—one person—that could make his day complete.

Just as he stepped outside, he spotted Yoongi leaning against his car, hands casually tucked into his pockets, the faint glow from the streetlights catching on his soft, dark hair. He looked up at the sound of the door and, seeing Jimin, broke into a small, warm smile—the kind that made Jimin’s heart race every time.

"You’re late," Yoongi teased, pushing himself off the car to meet him.

Jimin chuckled, rolling his eyes. "Says the one who left early today."

"Had to leave room for the CEO to miss me," Yoongi replied, his smirk never fading.

Jimin shook his head, smiling. They’d been doing this for weeks now: late-night dinners, stolen weekends, quiet mornings before work, and late-night drives like this one. Yoongi had carved a place in Jimin’s life, and it felt so natural, so right. Every moment together made him realize how much he wanted Yoongi in his life—not just now, but every day, in the long run.

The comfortable banter turned to easy silence as they got into Yoongi’s car, the familiar hum of the engine soothing. They drove for a bit, the city lights whizzing by as they made their way to a quiet park that had become their unofficial spot for late-night conversations.

Once they arrived, Yoongi parked and gestured to the path leading down to the park’s lake. "Walk with me?" he asked.

Jimin nodded, and they started along the path, their footsteps soft against the gravel. As they walked, Yoongi slipped his hand into Jimin’s, and Jimin felt a surge of warmth rush through him. He loved the small, easy gestures Yoongi offered—little affirmations that meant more than words.

Finally, they reached the lake, its dark surface reflecting the faint shimmer of stars above. They stood there for a moment, taking it all in, Yoongi’s hand still wrapped firmly around Jimin’s.

"Remember our first date?" Yoongi asked, his voice soft, almost lost in the night air.

Jimin laughed, leaning his head against Yoongi’s shoulder. "Of course. You dragged me to an amusement park, then tried to make me jealous in the car. It was unforgettable."

Yoongi smirked. "Admit it, you liked it."

Jimin rolled his eyes, nudging him playfully. "You just wanted to see how much you could get away with."

Yoongi turned to face him, his expression shifting to something more serious. "Maybe. But I also wanted to see if you felt the same way about me as I felt about you."

Jimin stilled, his heart pounding as he met Yoongi’s gaze. The warmth in Yoongi’s eyes was unmistakable, steady and unwavering. It was a look that made Jimin feel like he was the only person in the world that mattered.

"How do you feel about me, then?" Jimin asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.

Yoongi’s lips curled into a soft smile as he reached up, brushing a stray lock of hair from Jimin’s face. "I love you, Park Jimin. I think I’ve loved you for a long time. I just didn’t know how to tell you until now. C'mon Jimin believe me when I say I love you"

"I know.. it's just hard to believe sometimes. It just feels surreal... but I love you, too, Min Yoongi," Jimin replied, his voice trembling with emotion. "I think I knew it from that first day. When we met at the party at Kook's place."

Yoongi laughed softly, his fingers intertwining with Jimin’s, anchoring them together. "Mhm. I remember that day. It was .. chaotic to say the least but I'm glad I met you that day Park Jimin... It was definitely one of the best days of my life."

Jimin chuckled "mine too Yoongi, mine too."

They stood in silence for a while, content just to be close. Then, after a moment, Yoongi reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small, silver keychain. It was simple, with a tiny engraved symbol—a musical note.

"I, uh, got you this," Yoongi said, his voice a little shy for the first time. "I know it’s not much, but I thought… well, I thought it could be a reminder of us. Of this moment."

Jimin took the keychain, his fingers brushing over the engraved note, and felt a lump form in his throat. It was small, but it was perfect, and it symbolized everything they’d built together—memories, quiet conversations, and dreams they hadn’t yet spoken.

"I love it," Jimin whispered, a tear slipping down his cheek before he could stop it.

Yoongi reached up, gently wiping the tear away with his thumb, his eyes never leaving Jimin’s. "I don’t want this to be just one night. I want… all of it. With you."

Jimin’s heart swelled with emotion, and he knew, without a doubt, that he wanted the same. "Then stay. Stay with me."

Yoongi smiled, pulling Jimin into his arms, holding him tightly as if he’d never let go. "I’m not going anywhere."

They stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, with the lake and the stars as their only witnesses, both silently promising to make this love last. It wasn’t about grand gestures or extravagant words—just two people, choosing each other every day.

And as they walked back to the car, hand in hand, Yoongi couldn’t resist one last teasing smile. "So, about that jealous streak. You know you don’t have to worry about Minwoo, right?"

Jimin groaned, smacking him lightly on the shoulder, but the laughter in his eyes was unmistakable. "Shut up, Min Yoongi. Just drive me home."

And as they drove through the quiet streets, the love between them felt like it had always been there, as natural as breathing. This was the start of something beautiful—something lasting. And as they pulled up in front of Jimin’s place, they both knew they’d never say goodbye again.
