The Dream

You were trapped, confined to a room you don't remember the outside of. It was dark, pitch black really, no light to be found, your eyes had adjusted to that years ago though. You were chained, but not to a single place, at least you could move around.

You didn't know much about the world, or much about yourself, you only knew your name, Calypso. Or at least that's what you thought your name was, it was the only name you could remember. The other things you could remember were far and few in between. You did know how to speak, so oftentimes you would say everything you remembered out loud.

One thing you remembered was someone brushing your hair when you were young, around the age of four, now your hair was matted, brittle and too long for your liking. You didn't know how old you were now, but you decided years ago that remembering your age wouldn't do any good.

You had woken up to darkness again, you stood and walked back and forth, the rattling of the chains had long become ignored, unheard to you really. You went as close to the door leading out as you could, your internal clock told you it was time to eat soon, so you waited.

Soon enough the door opened, and a girl came in, you couldn't quite tell what she looked like in the darkness, not that it mattered to you. The girl radiated warmth, literally and metaphorically. She was sweet, her voice soft and kind as she told you what breakfast was. She watched you eat, so that when you were done, she could take the plate away. It was the same for lunch and dinner, day in and day out.

Until one day, a man showed up, he talked to you, he became a friend quickly, he would come over many times a week, sometimes even multiple times a day. It was fun, you would hide him under your bed whenever it was time to eat. It was fun. He often tried to get you out of the chains, whenever he got close to breaking them, or unlocking them something always pushed him away. Afterwards he'd bring you things like flowers, or candy, from a place called Earth as an apology.

After a while you realized you liked the man. You told him, and he told you he felt the same, after that day he tried even harder to get you out of the chains. He wanted you free no matter the cost. You both knew that his efforts were useless, but he said he felt as though he was taking advantage of you, especially since you'd never seen the outside world, so you continued to let him try.

Until finally, he broke through the chains. That day felt like a miracle, the two of you explored what he called the Moon, there was a kingdom that had parties, pastries and more. He took you to earth and showed you anything you asked.

When you did go back to your own home, the girl who gave you your food, simply asked how it went, showing that she knew yet wouldn't get you in trouble, you became friends with her and her partner, and eventually the three of you became friends as well. Everything felt amazing.

Until one day, you had woken up to screaming, you ran towards the door only to find it locked, you didn't know what was going on, only that something terrible was going on, you tried everything in your power to open that door, and nothing seemed to work. Eventually you tired yourself out. You felt yourself falling asleep as a bubble-like thing surrounded you, it took you away from your home, seemingly away from those you loved.

The only thing on your mind was the man you wished to see, Endymion.

You awaken to the sound of your alarm, you yawn and sit up, rubbing your eyes. You had that dream again. You get ready for the day as you walk to school, you notice someone familiar.

"Mamoru, Hi." You speak as you run up to him with a smile.

He turns to you and smiles, "Oh hi, Y/N. Long time no see." Your conversation continues naturally, as you walk together. It feels like you two have known each other for a long time, for some odd reason. It doesn't feel bad when you part ways, because you know you'll see him again.
