I am going to go on a random ass fucking rant about Jax because why not
Jax is not an NPC, how many people in the fandom believe. It has been confirmed by Gooseworx that all of the main cast are humans, and Jax is the main cast.
There are ,,proofs" that Jax is an NPC. First being, that he has the keys to everyone's rooms. Will solve that later on.
Second is, he seems to be aware of the fact theyre being watched, pointing out the viewer straight on.
That is no proof hes an NPC. I have some more proof to that as well but will say that later on too. Anyway, maybe hes just aware of it, knowing Caine is putting them live somewhere. Or hes literaly just and only bored and does it because why not, if that makes sence.
The third being that we never see Jax's room. Now i do agree that there is something weird about that, and that theres deffenetly something important inside, but the fact we dont see it doesnt straight up mean hes an npc. People say he might have stolen it after getting into the circus, but i just simply dont believe that. Its his room and theres something hiding inside.
If you have any more ,,proofs" comment and ill tell you all the reasons why that isnt right.
Now the main part. I have a whole ass theory on Jax.
There are two songs out on Youtube (that are absolutely amazing btw-) that i found, and both of them are canon to the Digital Circus for one reason. Michael Kovach worked on them as well, and is the one singing them. Jax is depressed as fuck-Like holy shit this man-
Hes basically just hiding his emotions by being an asshole. And thats straight up said in the first song ,,Knock knock who cares".The whole song is basically about how Jax is indeed not okay and that hes trying to play it like he doesnt give a shit. The part that mostly shows this is
Calm down, you're fineThis is all in your mindCruel jokes can hideThe feelings building inside
After that hes trying to convince himself that he doesnt care about them. Also, from this song, i believe Jax is just waiting for when he abstracts, hoping it will happen soon.
Next thing, Jax used to be great friends with Kaufmo.
Thats shown mainly in the second song which is (i believe-) called Funny things.To the end there its more than obvious. He literaly accidentally calls Pomni Kaufmo when theyre pulling a prank on someone together, and goes on to remember some of the times with Kaufmo.This one also shows how depressed he is but not as much. The proof about Kaufmo is in Knock Knock who cares as well, but its just one moment when Jax is depressed the most id say and Kaufmo appears in the backround with the words ,,Hi! Im Kaufmo!"
Also, the end of Funny things, and the pilot of TADC, make me believe Jax has been in the circus the longest. People think its Kinger which is still possible, but im putting my bets of Jax.The pilot because he says ,,Old Kinger over there's supposedly been here the longest"But the way he says Supposedly makes me believe Jax's just hiding the fact it was him. I think Kinger was the second to be there.
That would also kinda explain a part of Knock Knock who cares where he says
You don't need to pretend, soon it's allgonna endYou've seen it happen again, and againand again, and again, and again
That of coarse reffering to the abstraction. He saw the abstraction of every single person who ever was there. Leaving him traumatized and just waiting for when he abstracts as well, hoping its gonna be soon.
This may also explain his room, if he was indeed the first there should be something special, or maybe he came in as an admin/someone with more power than others and that explains why he has the keys to other people's rooms.
Jax has also absolutely given up on getting out, as is shown in Funny things.
Thats why i think the first reason to Jax being an NPC isnt true. People also think he might be a hacker, which i dont support, but i also dont think its wrong. Id say something more like an admin.
May also explain why hes a rabbit.I dont know what about you but rabbits are the animals that are used to test shit on.Meaning Jax could have been send there as the first one, with admin powers, and was supposed to test out if it works, but never returned to say if it does or not. And being tested, he looks like a rabbit. I dunno in my contury the phase ,,experiment rabbit'' is used to reffer to the person youre testing your product on.and it seems suspicious to me-
Random thing but Kinger is a chess king to match his wife. Also, i believe she was stronger mentally then him, because chess queens are the strongest pieces in chess, unlike kings who are the weakest, and have to quite literaly be protected by the queen. That is also why Kinger acts insane in the show, because theres no queen that would help him be himself and solve things. Now i wanna make them a fanart because a relationship with that dynamic are cute af-
