Jennie led Lisa into her bedroom, every step amplifying her nerves as she felt acutely aware of Lisa's every move. With a soft, somewhat awkward smile, Jennie gestured around.
"This is my room, hehe," she said, a little shyly.
Lisa looked around, taking in the tidy room adorned with soft toys and plushies. It seemed Jennie was a major Cinnamoroll fan. Lisa's gaze landed back on Jennie, who was standing there, fidgeting, looking both nervous and adorable. She knew they had almost kissed back on the sofa—something that, in hindsight, she wished had happened.
"If you have an extra throw or something, I can crash on the floor," Lisa suggested.
"No way, Lisa. The bed is big enough for both of us. I don't bite... unless invited," Jennie joked with a teasing smirk. She had meant it playfully, but for a split second, she caught a flash of intensity in Lisa's eyes before it vanished, leaving her more confused than ever. Was Lisa interested, or wasn't she? The mixed signals were driving Jennie crazy.
"You can take the left side. I'll freshen up, and you can use the bathroom after me," Jennie said, heading into the bathroom.
Lisa flopped onto the bed, covering her face with her hands. Why does Jennie affect me so much? What is it about her that makes my heart race? she wondered, her thoughts spinning. She let out a small, silent scream, thrashing her legs on the bed.
"What are you doing?" Jennie's amused voice cut through her thoughts.
"Aah... nothing! I thought something was on my leg... it was just... um, Kuma!" Lisa stammered, pointing at the dog, who looked up briefly from his bed before laying back down.
"Alright, if you say so," Jennie laughed softly, settling on her side of the bed.
They lay in silence, a charged, almost tangible tension hanging between them. Lisa faced away, murmuring a "Goodnight," while Jennie switched off the light, scooting to the far corner of her side and whispering, "Goodnight."
The Next Morning
Lisa felt a tickling sensation on her face and scrunched her nose, trying to brush it away. When her hand encountered hair instead, her eyes slowly opened. The room was dimly lit by early morning light, and she realized Jennie's hair was the source of the tickle. Jennie was cuddled up against her, her head nestled close to Lisa's shoulder, their legs tangled together. Lisa knew she should pull away, but she found herself savoring the warmth, pulling Jennie even closer, just for this one moment.
When Jennie woke up, she noticed Lisa's arm wrapped around her, their legs tangled together. She didn't remember how they'd ended up cuddling, but it was easily one of the best sleeps she'd had. As she looked at Lisa's sleeping face, her heart softened. Lisa's hair was a mess, and her mouth was slightly open in sleep, making her look irresistibly cute. Jennie gently smoothed Lisa's bangs and traced her finger softly along Lisa's cheek, enjoying the closeness for just a few seconds longer. Carefully, she slipped out of Lisa's arms and headed toward the kitchen.
In the living room, she found Jisoo and Chaeyoung still snuggled up together. Smiling, Jennie busied herself making breakfast. Soon, Lisa emerged, her bed hair even messier, looking adorably disheveled.
"Good morning, Jennie! Did you sleep well?" Lisa asked, standing close.
Jennie felt her heart skip a beat, looking at Lisa's sleepy face. She cleared her throat and teased, "Morning, Lalisa. I slept well. Looks like you slept better than me."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Lisa asked, glancing at her reflection in the kitchen window. Her eyes widened comically, and with a startled yelp, she ran to the bathroom, slamming the door shut. Jennie laughed, accidentally waking Jisoo, who groaned from her spot on the floor.
"Yah, keep it down, Jennie. I was having the best dream," Jisoo mumbled, pulling Chaeyoung closer as she slowly woke up.
"Unnie, maybe it isn't a dream," Jennie said with a giggle.
"Huh?" Jisoo muttered, opening her eyes to see herself still wrapped around Chaeyoung, who smiled up at her sleepily, making Jisoo's heart race. Blushing, Jisoo quickly sat up and pushed Chaeyoung away.
"Yah! What do you think you're doing cuddling me?" Jisoo stammered.
"Does it matter? It was the best sleep I've had, even on this hard floor," Chaeyoung replied with a stretch.
Jisoo looked ready to argue when Jennie interjected, "Breakfast is ready; come join us."
Lisa re-emerged from the bathroom just in time to see Jisoo storming off, her expression flustered. Taking a seat next to Jennie, Lisa brushed her arm lightly against hers, making Jennie's skin tingle. She instinctively shifted away a little.
"You okay? Are you cold?" Lisa asked, concerned, placing her warm hand on Jennie's thigh and rubbing gently. Jennie's breath caught at the unexpected contact, making her feel as though her whole body was alight.
"Ahem. I'm fine, let's eat," she managed, serving breakfast. They ate in a comfortable silence, although Jennie noticed how Jisoo and Chaeyoung seemed determined not to look at each other, each avoiding any contact. Jisoo left immediately stating urgent work needed to be taken care of.
After breakfast, Chaeyoung hugged Lisa and Jennie goodbye, leaving them alone in the apartment.
"I guess I should go too," Lisa said softly.
Jennie didn't want her to leave just yet, but she couldn't think of an excuse to make her stay.
"Okay," Jennie replied, feeling a bit defeated.
Lisa moved in for a hug. Jennie clung to her, savoring the warmth of her embrace. They fit together perfectly, Jennie's head nestled against Lisa's shoulder, while Lisa's arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her close. When Jennie loosened her hold slightly, she didn't pull back.
"I had fun last night. Thank you for staying over," Jennie whispered, looking up into Lisa's eyes.
Lisa gazed down at her, her eyes lingering on Jennie's lips. Jennie leaned in just a bit, closing the distance between them. They were only inches apart when Lisa hesitated, then pulled back, heading toward the door.
Jennie sighed, watching her leave, before finally turning back toward her room. She was about halfway down the hall when the door burst open with a loud bang, and she turned to see Lisa standing there, breathing heavily.
"Lisa, what—" Jennie started, but before she could finish, Lisa crossed the room, pushing her against the wall and kissing her with an intensity that took Jennie's breath away. Jennie melted into the kiss, her hands threading through Lisa's hair. Lisa's lips were soft but insistent, moving with a passion that Jennie matched. She opened her mouth to let Lisa in, and a low moan escaped her as Lisa's tongue teased hers. Lisa's hands found Jennie's waist, pulling her flush against her body as they deepened the kiss, her lips trailing along Jennie's jaw and down her neck, sending shivers through her.
Finally, they broke apart, both catching their breath. Lisa rested her forehead on Jennie's shoulder, still holding her tightly. She pulled back, her eyes meeting Jennie's with a look of regret mixed with longing.
"I should have done that back at the party," Lisa admitted, her voice soft.
Jennie smiled, drawing her back in for another kiss, making Lisa groan softly—a sound that sent warmth coursing through Jennie.
"So much wasted time," Jennie murmured against Lisa's lips. "Guess we'll just have to make up for it."
Lisa smiled back, trailing gentle kisses along Jennie's cheek and jaw. She's going to be the death of me, Lisa thought, pulling her close once more.
