"MaxxAuto is officially opened," I announced to the crowd gathered for the grand opening of my dealership. A mix of family, friends, and community members filled the lot, excitement buzzing in the air. "So we have some deals going on, $500 off, free oil changes for a year, and a $200 gas card with any car purchase made with us today and tomorrow." I couldn't help but beam with pride. This was my dream, a culmination of years of hard work and dedication.
As I scanned the crowd, my eyes landed on my family and friends. Bre stood next to my mom and Alicia, her face lit up with that smile I adored.
"Aww, honey, congratulations! I'm so happy for you! I know you've always wanted your own dealership," my mom exclaimed, pulling me in for a hug. I leaned down and kissed her forehead.
"Thank you, Ma," I said, feeling a wave of gratitude. My gaze shifted back to Bre, but before I could speak, I felt a light smack on the back of my head. I turned to see Alicia, my older sister, grinning at me.
"Congratulations, to my ugly little brother. I guess I'm proud of you," she teased, her playful jab not lost on me.
"You just as ugly! Come here, girl," I said, pulling her in for a hug. Alicia had always been my biggest supporter. With my mom working and my dad... well, who knows where he was, Alicia was my rock.
I winked at Bre as I let go of Alicia. "Thanks, Aub," she said, her voice warm.
"Who told you to wear this?" I asked, eyeing her outfit.
She looked down and frowned. "What's wrong with it?"
"I need you to cover up," I said with a smirk just as my boys walked over, dapping me up and offering their congratulations.
"Bro, this shit is crazy! I can't believe we own a dealership!" Juice said, his excitement infectious.
"We, huh?" I raised an eyebrow, teasing him.
"Of course, cuz!" he shot back, laughing along with Bre.
With all the commotion, I grabbed Bre's hand and led her to a quieter corner of the lot. People milled around, checking out the cars while my dealers worked hard to make sales.
"Thank you for coming, baby. Seriously," I said, leaning in to kiss her softly.
"Aub, you know I wouldn't miss this. This is huge for you! I know I haven't been there since the beginning, but I've seen how hard you've been working on this since we've met. I'm proud of you," she replied, wiping my lips with her thumb, probably because I had some of her lip shit on me.
"What I tell you about them lips?" I smirked before kissing her again, my heart swelling with happiness.
Later that night, we were out celebrating with Chubbs, Chris, and a few others I keep around me. The drinks were flowing, and Bre was beside me, lost in conversation with her friend Tiara. She had asked me earlier if she could invite Tiara.
