Bai Qian

I made a conscious effort to wake up early today, I was awake before any of my brothers.

I went to bath, got dressed and I went to the main hall.

Master was standing outside staring at the sky.

"You're awake early."

He said softly, somehow his voice sounded sad today and I suddenly had a yearning to comfort him.

"Master what's wrong?"

Master's gaze lingered on the horizon before shifting to me.
His eyes, though serene, held a hint of melancholy.

"Nothing, Si Yin. Just lost in thought."

I dared not pry, but my curiosity was piqued. His sorrowful demeanor was contagious,

and I felt an overwhelming urge to ease his pain.

"Master, may I join you for morning meditation?"

I asked, hoping to lift his spirits.

He nodded, a faint smile on his lips.

"Let's begin."

We sat together, our breaths synchronized, as the sun slowly rose over Kunlun Mountain.

The silence between us was comforting, and for the first time, I felt a deep connection to this enigmatic man.

As we meditated, I sensed a subtle energy emanating from Master.

It was as if his chi was resonating with mine, calming my mind and soothing my soul.

Suddenly, visions flooded my mind – glimpses of a tragic past, of trials and hardships.

I gasped, startled, and opened my eyes to find Master looking at me.

"What happened?"

He whispered softly, my heart was suddenly in pain and I wanted to cry.

"Nothing Master, let's continue."

I closed my eyes and tried to calm down my mind, but I was dragged into his past memories.

I tried to push through it but the pain was wearing heavy, I opened my eyes and the tears started flowing.

I quickly wiped my face as he still had his eyes closed, after a while he opened them again.

"Your disciple brothers are awake, wait for me in the main hall."

I stood up and I bowed, I left the meditation and instead of going to the main hall, I went to the Golden Lotus.

I sat down next to the pond and I stared at the Golden Lotus.

"Did you miss me?"

I asked softly,  not that I was expecting a reply but Golden sparks eminated from it.

"I was meditating with Master just now,

and I saw glimpses of his past. I wanted to push past his pain but I couldn't."

I sighed.

"Master has had a hard life but I think being here was the hardest."

I felt a gentle energy envelope me, soothing the pain that was threatening to split me in half.

"Do not get said because if he sees you like this, he will get worried."

I heard a faint but soothing voice, the entire Golden Lotus was now covered in light.
