The necklace sits their sparkling in my hand, giving off that rich vibe, the feeling of holy shit this must cost a lot. The diamonds shimmer as the florescent light hits it in the right spot.
"Aria where did you get this? Your step mother will kill for something like this!" I warn her, I feel her shrug next to me, my eyes stay trained on the high dollar necklace in my hand.
"My grandma gave it to me, something about needing it for the big day. Says it will fulfill that so called magical dress. Its been in the family for generations." She replies easily.
"Really? Looks pretty modern to me, like you just snatched it out of the Kay jewelers commercial."
"Yes Lay, i definitely stuck my hand in my TV because that's part of the curse that's 'beheld' on thy child. Which i mean myself." She jokes sarcastically. I laugh as i hand her necklace back and lay down on my bed to stare at the ceiling.
"This curse thing is real huh." I ask.
"Yeah, we have assigned husbands and magic to witness." Aria says softly, lying down next to me."
"Does that mean your gonna be super rich with a pet dog that's like a horse?" I question, pretending to be serious.
"You mean a great Dane? Why yes child, i will have that dog that's like a horse. God your so weird." Aria giggles, giving me a slight nudge with her elbow.
"I saw Nathan Grey at the mall yesterday.." I say slowly. Nathan Grey is the middle aged boy in the Grey Family, he should be at least 15 or 16. I try not to talk to them much. They hold the Wolf curse in their blood. The enemy of Red Riding Hood of course, if your not familiar with the story. They were basically assigned to our family.
"What was that dick doing at the mall here? Doesn't his family live across town?" Aria mumbles.
"He was with Kian, you know that guy who dated Marsha." I remind her, Kian and Marsha are 2 grades above us, but Marsha is a good friend of ours.
"Kian is such an Ass." Aria growls, and I cant disagree. The guy was crazy.
=Reality Check=
I sit in the psycho guys house trying to keep my cool. He hasnt done anything since the weird outburst of yanking me in here. He stands at the fridge acting a little bit normal now.
"You sure you dont want anything, Layla?" He asks, my name rolling off his tongue like he just tasted the best candy ever.
"Positive. Whats your name crazy dude who wont let me leave?" I ask, hardening my tone, trying to be tough.
"My name is Adam, and im not crazy. Your Little Red, and I think im your Wolf." Adam says casually pouring himself a cup of scotch.
I feel all breath stolen from me. Thats Impossible. What the hell is going on.
"No, Connor Grey is supposed to be my wolf. Its like a family Tradition." I say shaking it off. Hes crazy he will say anything.
"I've seen you before. Im not going to hurt you dont worry. But long story short, I dont want to live on with this curse and i want you to help me find the cure to it." He says taking a sip, while looking at me dead in the eye. His expression looks so relaxed and relieved, but stern.
"A cure? I don't even know you!" I say laughing out the stress. This is weird. Fucked up just a bit. But that cant be bad because everything about the family curse is fucked up what should I expect.
"You will though. I will drive you home tonight though, and you wont speak a word about what I just told you. As if this moment your technically mine. I've Imprinted you, every wolf will know your taken, your trigger to your curse has been found. You'll be safe, and you'll help me whenever I need you to. Want to end this curse business before I eat your grandma?" Adam replies softly, but full of force at the same time. I sit and think about what hes telling me then I think of all the ranting Aria and i have talked about. About how awful the curse is to tell us who we are.
"I dont know you...I am sorry this is all to much in one night let me go home now please." I beg quietly, ignoring his stare while i focus on looking at the table.
"Sure. Ill see you again soon." Adam replies, taking a last gulp of his scotch. He walks over to me and tips my head up to look at his glowing Yellow eyes.
"Your already there." He says and the next thing I know I see blackness everywhere. I cant feel anything besides a shove on my arm.
"Layla...? LAYLA WAKE YOUR ASS UP!" Aria yells into my ear and I jolt up. I am laying on the bench outside on my deck.
"What the hell?" I say aloud as the memories of my dream come flooding through no warning. I just remember him. His eyes. His pure brown eyes, that glowed the color of yellow.
"I didnt puke as much, and i finished cleaning the aftermess. You slacked this time." Aria jokes I look at her and wonder if I should tell her. The dream was so weird maybe she can get something out of it. Wait what am I talking about it was a goddamn dream.
"You cleaned? Damn it Aria I didnt want you to!" I shriek at Aria but then immediately get hit in the arm.
"SHUSH geez your loud." Aria whines, i totally forgot about her headache.
"Sorry sorry." I whisper and she just laughs a little lighter.
"What do you want to do today?" Aria Asks pulling her hair into pony tail while i start putting mine in a messy bun.
Right before I answer I get a weird feeling that were being watched from the woods. Then again, this feeling comes often, paranoid. Cant help that.
"Uhm. Great question?" I answer not thinking straight when I see yellow eyes deep in the woods across from Aria and I.
"Lets go hang with someone. Like Jake!" Aria suggests and that immediately brightens my mood.
"Yes! Please." I say trying to focus on Aria and not my hallucinations.
She gets up to go get changed and before I follow I see him.
The boy from my dream.
Hes real.
I get up and run inside when fear finally illuminates my body and when I turn around to shut my door hes gone.Who the fuck is he?
