(The next day)

Y/N's P.O.V

Right now I'm at the gym.

I just need to take my mind off things, especially this whole "taking over from Tony" thing.

I'm hitting the punching bag.

As I do this I start to hear things.

I remember our first conversation we had in my bedroom when I was just a kid.

Tony: So, why are you doing this? I gotta know, what's your M.O? What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Y/N: Well, I've been me my whole life and I've had my powers for three months.

Tony: Hmm.

Y/N: I play video games, I build computers. And I'd love to play football, but I couldn't then so I shouldn't now.

Tony: Right, cause you're different.

Y/N: Exactly, but I can't tell anyone that, so I'm not. When you can do the things that I can, but you don't. And then the bad things happen, they happen because of you.

Tony: So, you wanna look out for the little guy? Do your part? Make the world a better place, all that, right?

Y/N: Yeah. Just lookin' out for the little guy. That's what it is.

I continue to hit the punching bag harder.

I tried to save him, but I couldn't.

I couldn't save Tony.

Tony: Look, we've got a shot at getting these stones but I have to tell you guys my priorities. Bring back what we lost, yes I hope so. Keep what I found I have to at all costs. And maybe not die while doing it would be nice.

Steve: Sounds like a deal.

Y/N: Yeah, it does.

I hit the bag and it flies back.

I breathe heavily.

???: Hey, kid.

I look over to see dad there.

Y/N: Hey, dad.

I go over to the bag and pick it up.

Y/N: So, what's going on?

Henry: Well, Tory came to see me and said you've been struggling. Are you okay?

I sigh and put the bag back on the hook.

Y/N: I'm fine. Just trying clear my head.

Henry: Well, a punching bag is cheaper than a shrink that's for sure. That's what Oliver used to say.

He comes over.

Henry: Do you wanna talk about it?

Y/N: Dad, I know you're trying to help and I appreciate that. I just don't wanna talk about it.

Dad nods.

Henry: Okay, that's fine. Just try and talk to someone, okay?

Y/N: I'll try. It's just not easy.

Henry: Yeah, I understand that.

I sigh.

Y/N: I need to get home.

Henry: Okay. I'll give you a ride. I'll drop you off before going back to precinct.

Y/N: Thanks.

We then leave gym.

(Twenty minutes later)

So I'm now back home.

I walk into the kitchen, I drop the keys on the kitchen counter.

My spider sense tells me there's someone here, but they aren't a threat either.

???: Hello, Y/N Drake.

I turn and see Nick Fury sat in the living room.

Y/N: Hi. You're Nick Fury.

Nick Fury: I am. It's nice to finally meet you, Spider-Man. Tony and Oliver always spoke highly of you. I saw you at the funeral, but I thought it'd be a bad time to exchange numbers.

Y/N: Yeah, that makes sense.

Nick Fury: Though what matters now is that we're now in the same room together.

Y/N: Okay...

Nick Fury: I used to know everything, kid, then I come back three years later and know nothing. No intel, no team and a nineteen year old vigilante is dodging my calls.

Y/N: What is this about, Fury?

He sighs.

Nick Fury: Here's what I do know, Y/N.

Fury goes on to tell how two weeks ago he and Agent Hill came across some sort of elemental creature.

And he's started to have other signatures similar to it popping up in other places.

Y/N: Okay, so what do you want me to do?

Nick Fury: I want you to help me track it down and help take down these other creatures.

Y/N: Look, sir, you have many other heroes to choose from. Go ask one of them. I'm not tryin' to be Spider-Man right now, I'm just tryin' to be normal.

He stands up.

Nick Fury: Kid, I know your story. Nothing about your life is normal.

Y/N: Yeah, no shit.

I sigh.

Y/N: Look, right now I'm just tryin' to be Y/N Drake, a normal guy. That's all I want to be right now. Is that too much to ask?

I look away.

Y/N: Like seriously, after all the good I've done and all the sacrifices I've made... haven't I earned just one week of peace?

Nick Fury: You have, but you're a hero, son. You're an Avenger. The world needs you right now. I need you. Just think about what Tony and Oliver would want you to do.

I look over at a framed picture of Tony and I.

He would want me to help. To be a hero. So would uncle Oliver.

I look back to Fury.

Y/N: Okay, I'm in.

Nick Fury: Good. Go and pack. We leave in two hours.

I nod.

Fury leaves.

Time to pack up.

(One hour later)

So I've just finished packing.

I called Tory and she's now at my house with me.

I've told her about what's going on.

Tory: Are you sure you have to go?

Y/N: Yeah, I do. It's just something I gotta do, babe.

She sighs.

Tory: Okay, I get it.

I grab my backpack and suitcase.

Y/N: Well, I'm ready go. Can you tell my dad what's going on and where I'm going?

Tory: Of course.

She comes over and wraps her arms around my neck.

Tory: Okay, just please be careful. I can't lose you.

Y/N: You won't. I'm not that easy to kill, you know that.

She and kiss for a moment.

We then pull away.

Y/N: I gotta go now. I'll be home soon. I love you.

Tory: I love you too, babe.

I leave our place to go and meet with Fury.

I'm definitely gonna taking a break after this.
