After deciding to go to their respective classrooms, Taehyun took his headphones from his bag and walked back to his classroom.
As he was walking toward to his classroom, a hand suddenly covered his eyes, causing his headphones to fall off.
"Guess, how's this?" said the person covering his eyes, giggling.
"Uhhh..." he thought.
"Is her hair blonde?" he asked, and she hummed in agreement.
"Is her favorite ice cream?" he asked, and Chaeryeong hummed again in response.
"Is her name Lee Chaeryeong?" he answered, and she removed her hands from his eyes, stepping in front of him.
He was surprised when she hugged him tight, as if she was going to squeeze all the air out of him. It was a warm, familiar embrace that made him feel safe and cherished. She held him for a full minute, not wanting to let go, before finally resting her head on his shoulder. The warmth of her presence made him feel content, and he couldn't help but smile.
"When are you going to let me go?" Taehyun asked, teasingly.
Chaeryeong responded with a cute, playful "No!" She clung to him even tighter, her head still nestled on his shoulder.
Taehyun started walking towards his classroom, Chaeryeong still clinging to him, her body fitting perfectly against his. He didn't mind the strange looks they were getting from the other students. It seemed like everyone was watching them, whispering, and judging their unusual display of affection. But Taehyun and Chaeryeong didn't care.
Chaeryeong lifted her head from his shoulder and said, "I miss you so much, my best friend."
Taehyun, in response, snaked his arm around her waist, their eyes locking. "I miss you too," he said softly.
He paused for a moment, then asked, "I thought you weren't going to study here? I thought you were staying in Paris for good?"
Chaeryeong smiled. "Well, my parents approved that I would study here. They want me to be independent now."
"So I'll always see you here?" Taehyun's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Of course, squirrel," Chaeryeong answered, her smile widening.
They had been best friends since elementary school, but when Chaeryeong turned 15, her parents moved to Paris and she stayed there with them. This made Taehyun sad because they didn't see each other again. When Chaeryeong's mother returned to Korea, Taehyun immediately went to their house to see if she was with her, but Chaeryeong wasn't there. This disappointed Taehyun, but her mother gave him Chaeryeong's contact information, and they began having video calls every day.
However, Taehyun wasn't the same old best friend Chaeryeong knew anymore. The influence of his friends had led him to make out with random women and play with their hearts, something Chaeryeong was unaware of. Taehyun kept this part of his life hidden from Chaeryeong, pretending to be his old self whenever they talked in videocall.
"So where is your classroom?" he asked with a smile.
"In room 4," Chaeryeong answered. This made Taehyun's eyes widen because they had the same classroom.
"We're in the same room! Let's go, we're already late!," Taehyun answered, taking her hand and running towards their classroom.

Beomgyu sat in his chair, bored out of his mind. His seatmate wasn't there, and the teacher's lecture was making him sleepy.
"Ugh, this is so boring," he said, rolling his eyes. Just then, Ryujin walked into the classroom, and everyone stopped talking. She looked terrible. Her lip was bruised, and her eye was swollen and black. Everyone stared at her, whispering to each other.
"Good morning, sir. Sorry I'm late," the girl said quietly. She walked to her desk, which was next to Beomgyu's.
But before she could sit down, she suddenly fainted. Beomgyu jumped up and caught her before she fell into the chair.
Everyone gasped as Beomgyu held the girl in his arms. His classmates ran over, worried about her.
"Take her to the clinic! Now!" the teacher yelled. Beomgyu picked the girl up, holding her carefully, and ran out of the classroom.
He didn't care about the people looking at him. He just wanted to get her to the clinic.
A few minutes later, Ryujin started to wake up. She opened her eyes slowly, and everything was blurry. She was in a white room that smelled like medicine. She was lying on a bed, and someone was holding her hand. She looked up and saw Beomgyu. He looked worried, but when he saw her eyes open, he looked relieved.
"Where am I?" she mumbled, her voice hoarse.
"You're at the clinic," Beomgyu said gently. "You fainted in class."
Ryujin blinked, trying to focus. "Is he doing this so I'll like him?" she thought, her heart pounding. Why was this guy, known around school as a playboy, so worried about her? They flirted with each other whenever they were near, but she had always been careful not to let anyone get too close. She didn't want to get hurt again. She was a playgirl too, after all. Her ex-boyfriend had cheated on her with multiple women, and she had been so hurt that she had decided to make men feel the same pain.
She had been dating, or rather flirting with, a lot of boys, leaving them heartbroken, just like her ex had left her. And then there was the guy she had been dating for fun, who already had a girlfriend. That girlfriend had sent some of her friends to beat Ryujin up, which is why she was in the clinic now.
"I'm okay," she said, trying to sit up. But Beomgyu gently pushed her back down.
"You need to rest," he said. "You'll feel better soon."
Ryujin looked at him, her heart pounding. She couldn't understand why he was being so nice to her. Maybe he was just trying to get something from her. Maybe he was just playing her like he played everyone else. But there was something about the way he looked at her, the way he held her hand, that made her doubt her own cynicism. Maybe, just maybe, he was being genuine.
is the storyline is confusing or not? 😭😭
