In a quiet corner of a desolate town, young Tenko Shimura sat alone. He was just a boy—frail, scared, and burdened by a deep anger he didn't understand. He didn't have many memories of family or warmth, only flashes of red and black shadows that haunted his dreams. And in his chest, he felt it: a strange, pulsing energy, an insatiable hunger for destruction. It was the Phantom Ruby, embedded within him like a second heartbeat, a dark and mysterious force that whispered to him, urging him to unleash its power. He didn't understand why it was there or what it could truly do, only that it seemed to answer the anger inside him.Tonight, he would give in.The ruby flared, sending waves of red and black energy crackling around his small form, wrapping him in a swirling aura. The colors warped reality around him, twisting and distorting the air, casting strange illusions of chaos and destruction. A small, abandoned house stood in front of him, and without hesitation, Tenko raised his hand, the ruby's energy amplifying his will. With a mere thought, the Phantom Ruby released its power, shattering the air around him with a massive blast. The house splintered into a storm of debris and dust, breaking into pieces that floated, twisted, and disintegrated as if ripped apart by an unseen force. The red aura painted everything with a haunting glow, fragments of the house suspended in the air like they'd been trapped in a nightmare. But it wasn't enough.Tenko's hand instinctively reached forward, and with a single touch, he activated his Decay. The remnants of the house began to dissolve, particles breaking down and crumbling, turning the already demolished structure into nothing but a pile of dust that scattered with the wind. Where once there had been a house, only emptiness remained—an echo of destruction, his handiwork lingering in the silence. As the dust settled, he felt... something. Not satisfaction, but a kind of dark thrill, an itch that felt momentarily scratched. But then, his heart thudded painfully, reminding him that the Phantom Ruby's hunger was far from sated. It wanted more. He wanted more."You did well, Tenko."Tenko spun around, his wide eyes meeting the gaze of a tall, shadowed figure who seemed to materialize out of thin air. The man wore a dark, twisted smile, one that sent a shiver down Tenko's spine but drew him in, nonetheless."Who... who are you?" Tenko asked, taking a step back, the ruby's glow dimming as if it recognized the figure. The man tilted his head, shadows swirling around him as he watched Tenko with a gleam of satisfaction. "I am someone who understands your power, someone who can help you nurture that darkness inside of you. You've already begun to unlock your potential."Tenko's heart pounded, that mix of fear and fascination twisting tighter in his chest. "What do you mean?""All this destruction... it's only the beginning. I can help you reach even greater heights. Together, we can bring this world to its knees." The man extended his hand, the darkness around him seemingly bending toward Tenko, as if to envelop him.The boy hesitated for only a moment before accepting the hand, the power of the Phantom Ruby pulsing in unison with his heart. He could feel it, the potential for chaos, for greatness. From that night on, Tenko Shimura—now Shigaraki—would be raised in the shadow of All For One, learning to wield his dual powers of decay and illusion. And together, they would unleash a darkness upon the world unlike anything it had ever known.
