**Part 1: Unraveling the Mystery**

**The next morning, the Phantom Bureau’s headquarters buzzed with activity. Kaito Nakamura, Rika Harada, and Miyu Takeda reconvened in the strategy room, where the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. The room was now covered with new information: images of the warehouse equipment, notes from last night’s investigation, and detailed plans for the next steps.**

Kaito stood by the large whiteboard, his eyes scanning the fresh data. The room was lit by a mixture of natural light filtering through high windows and the artificial glow of various monitors. He was surrounded by a sense of purpose as he addressed his team.

“Last night’s discovery is promising,” Kaito began. “We found high-tech equipment that likely ties into the memory alteration process we’ve been investigating. We need to dive deeper into this equipment to understand its full implications.”

Rika, seated at her desk, was already engrossed in analyzing the data they had gathered. Her fingers flew over the keyboard as she pulled up detailed schematics of the equipment. “This machinery is sophisticated. I’ve managed to extract some preliminary data, and it confirms that this equipment is used for advanced surveillance and possibly memory manipulation.”

Miyu, examining a tablet with a frown of concentration, added, “The surveillance tech here is impressive—better than anything we’ve seen before. If Greaves is behind this, he’s invested heavily in maintaining control and secrecy.”

Kaito nodded in agreement. “Our goal is to trace this equipment back to its source. If we can identify its origin, we might uncover more about Greaves’ network and operations. We need to investigate where this equipment came from and who has been using it.”

**Part 2: Investigating the Source**

**The team decided to follow the trail of the equipment, which led them to a tech supply company that operated out of an industrial area. The company, named TeknoSolutions, was a legitimate business but had recently received several large and unusual orders. The company’s warehouse and shipping records were key to understanding the flow of the equipment.**

Kaito, Rika, and Miyu arrived at TeknoSolutions, an unremarkable building situated among other industrial structures. The company’s exterior was plain, with a simple sign that read “TeknoSolutions” in bold letters. The entrance was guarded by a security booth and a small parking lot.

“We’ll need to be discreet,” Kaito said as they approached the building. “If this company is involved, they might be aware of the sensitivity of their transactions.”

Miyu, always ready with a plan, suggested, “I’ll handle the technical side. I can access their systems remotely and check for any unusual orders or records. Meanwhile, you two can gather information from their staff.”

Rika and Kaito nodded in agreement. They entered the building, greeted by the reception area’s sterile environment. A receptionist, an elderly woman with sharp eyes, looked up as they approached.

“Good morning,” Kaito said with a polite smile. “We’re here to inquire about some recent orders. We’re from a private investigation firm, and we have a few questions about the equipment you’ve been shipping.”

The receptionist, though initially wary, directed them to the company’s logistics manager, a middle-aged man named Mr. Yamamoto. He was seated in a modest office cluttered with shipping records and inventory lists.

Mr. Yamamoto greeted them with a cautious smile. “How can I help you?”

“We’re investigating a case involving some of the equipment your company has supplied,” Kaito explained. “We need to review recent orders and shipments, particularly any high-tech or specialized equipment.”

Mr. Yamamoto’s expression shifted slightly. “I can show you the records, but I’ll need to check with our legal department first. This is sensitive information.”

While Kaito and Rika waited, Miyu worked from outside, accessing the company’s systems remotely. She hacked into the network, bypassing security protocols to retrieve shipment logs and order details.

“I’m in,” Miyu’s voice crackled through the earpiece. “I’m pulling up the data now. There are several large orders from the past six months, all for high-end surveillance and memory alteration equipment. It looks like these orders were processed through a third-party supplier.”

Kaito listened intently. “Can you trace the third-party supplier’s information?”

“On it,” Miyu replied. “It appears the supplier is a shell company with limited records. They might be a front for something more significant.”

**Part 3: The Hidden Connection**

**Back at the Bureau, the team gathered around a conference table, examining the data Miyu had retrieved. The room was filled with a mix of excitement and tension as they reviewed the shipment records and supplier information.**

“This supplier is connected to a network of front companies,” Miyu explained, pointing to a map of interconnected businesses on the monitor. “It’s clear that someone is using these companies to obscure their tracks. We need to identify the main player behind this network.”

Rika, who had been analyzing the data, spoke up. “There’s a pattern here. The equipment was ordered in large quantities and distributed across various locations. This suggests a well-organized operation with multiple points of contact.”

Kaito nodded, his expression thoughtful. “If Greaves is behind this, he’s managed to create a complex web of connections. We need to break through this web and find the core of the operation.”

Rika continued, “I’ve cross-referenced the supplier information with known associates of Greaves. There are several names that appear repeatedly. One of them, Dr. Haruto Nishida, is a known expert in neural engineering and has been linked to controversial research.”

Miyu looked up, her eyes focused. “Dr. Nishida could be a key figure in this operation. If he’s involved, he might have more information about the memory alteration process and its applications.”

Kaito’s gaze was resolute. “Our next step is to investigate Dr. Nishida and his connections. We need to determine his role in this network and gather evidence that links him to the memory alteration equipment.”

**Part 4: A Glimpse into the Past**

**As the investigation progressed, the team delved deeper into Dr. Nishida’s background. They uncovered a series of articles and research papers detailing his work in neural engineering. His research was groundbreaking but had been marred by ethical concerns and allegations of illegal experimentation.**

Kaito, Rika, and Miyu reviewed the information late into the night. The air was thick with concentration as they pieced together the fragments of their investigation.

“Dr. Nishida’s research aligns closely with the technology we found,” Rika said. “It’s clear that his work has the potential to be used for memory manipulation. If Greaves is involved, Dr. Nishida might be providing the scientific expertise.”

Miyu leaned back in her chair, her expression thoughtful. “We should try to locate Dr. Nishida and see if we can get him to talk. He might be willing to cooperate if we can offer him some form of protection or immunity.”

Kaito nodded. “Agreed. We need to approach this carefully. Dr. Nishida might be reluctant to speak, especially if he’s aware of Greaves’ influence and resources.”

**The team prepared for the next phase of their investigation. They planned to visit Dr. Nishida’s research facility, hoping to find crucial information and possibly convince him to provide valuable insights into the memory alteration process.**
