Jay's POV
It was the end of the week, Friday was here and because of it I was in a rather good mood for a change.
"Yeah, this morning my dad knocked on my door and handed me a box of condoms. He told me 'I want you to be safe and you're a teenager, so here you go'." I uncomfortably told Craig as we made our way to my locker.
Craig began to laugh. "That sounds fun." He sarcastically responded.
I crossed my arms. "A few years ago when he gave me 'the talk' it was one of the most uncomfortable conversations ever." I recalled to my boyfriend.
"Dinner at your place last night was fun." Craig nearly cheered with a big grin, then he went to grab my hand.
His hand quickly intertwined with mine. I was a bit uncomfortable but I stuck it out. I was Craig's boyfriend, it was only right for me to compromise with him. That's why I continued to let him hold my hand despite my annoyance and discomfort.
It was my therapist who told me I should be more open to Craig wanting to be affectionate towards me. She said I needed to compromise more often. So I was, but this was probably the only time I'd be listening to her.
"It was just dinner." I nonchalantly replied as I leaned against my locker.
Yesterday, after my therapy appointment, Craig came by for dinner. It was fine. It was better than having a mostly annoying and miserable dinner with my dad.
I usually kept my headphones on at dinner so if my dad talked to me, I could drown him out. He always chose dinner time to get on my case for just about everything, probably because that was the only time we were in the same room together for more than two minutes. I didn't have my headphones in yesterday because Craig was over.
Two nights ago, it was him wanting to know nearly every detail about school as of late for me. It was annoying, then he hounded me for ignoring him. He then took my headphones and I had to talk to him. I wanted to die in that moment.
"Yeah but it was with you so that's what made it fun." He smiled. "I have to go to my locker." He let go of my hand and kissed me on my cheek. Then he turned on his heel and walked away.
I blushed a bit, the few times we've kissed felt electric, this one being no exception.
"So, done with your excessive public display?" I heard John's voice say from behind in a slightly critical tone.
John was always showing up and ruining the mood. He had a knack for it.
I turned over and looked at him. "You're just bitter because you're single!" I smirked with cockiness as I went to open my locker.
"Ugh!" He scoffed. "I'm single by choice."
The reason he was single was because his standards were sky high, and he only cared to hook up with girls, never actually dating one of his many hookups.
I rolled my eyes at John and my expression turned a bit bitter. "So what did you come over to bother me about now." I sighed slightly.
"So, when can I come over and hangout with you?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes. "Last time you were at my house, you set the curtains on fire!" I recalled.
"So, that was a long time ago." He smugly declared with no hesitation.
I looked at him with disbelief. "Two months, it was two months ago!" I yelled loudly as I slammed my locker shut. "My dad banned you from our house because of that!"
My dad was never too fond of John, always calling him a bad influence and generally disapproving of him and his presence.
But once John lit our curtains on fire, he finally banned him from our house. My dad was rather relieved that he now had a valid reason to ban John from our house.
