A place called Gravity Falls

Were they trying to get rid of us? No...it was just for the summer. But they sure felt eager to send Chara and I away. Maybe they're just eager for some alone time. Blegh-

These thoughts and many more wracked the brain of a 13 year old named Frisk. Frisk wore a purple sweater with a blue vest over it as well as just some basic shorts. Nothing fancy. To top the look off they wore a cap with a rune on it. One known as the "Angel" as it was found on an ancient structure. Little was known about the origin or the people who believed in it. Just the stuff Frisk loved to learn about! Twin to their sister Chara who sat beside them on the "Lucious" bus seat. The website clearly lied as the seats were mediocre at best. But Frisk wasn't one to nitpick more than basic observations.

Unless it interested them. Then they probably hyper fixated more than your average 13 year old.

Chara -like Frisk- was 13 years old. Older by only 5 minutes! But nonetheless still older. She was very bubbly and outgoing. A little into darker things with a slight morbid curiosity, but also very bright things. Caring more for the creatives than the inquisitives. She wore a bright green and yellow stripped sweater and had brown shorts to fit the look. For once both items were not covered with glitter. On her head she wore a red headband to seal the deal.

The two may have been very different, but there was no way they could be any closer. Tending to do almost everything together. They had separate social circles of course, however they still somehow managed to be almost one person with their proximity.

It was summer time and with nothing to do, their parents sent them to Gravity Falls Oregon.  Only having time to pack the bare minimum before rushing off and loading up. Chara and Frisk both receiving a kiss goodbye and a swift hug from their parents.

Chara was eager as always as she prattled on and on about the "adventure" that awaited them while Frisk was a bit more bummed out.

"Geez! Can you be more of a grump Frisk?? You're already forming wrinkles!" Chara poked at Frisks forehead. Gaining a slight swat to the hand which only made her giggle.

Wait- did I say 13? No no no! They're much older than that. 17. They were 17. But they acted like children, maybe that was why they were being sent to spend summer at their Uncles. To taste the real world.

Frisk groaned rubbing their forehead, now aware that maybe there were wrinkles. "Don't poke me and I'm not grumpy! I'm just...thinking"

Chara hummed in slight amusement. "Well what about then?"

"Well...i dunno"

"Cmon! Tell me what's in that big nerd brain of yours!" Chara exclaimed as she shook Frisks shoulder.

"Hahaha okay! Okay! You win, would you sit down please?"

Saying no more at her success she sat down and stared at Frisk eagerly.

"I was just thinking about how fast Mom and Dad sent us away for the summer. I was looking forward to my plans.."

"Your plans was just to do more school Frisk. Not very exciting stuff if you ask me"

Frisk rolled their eyes and pushed Chara slightly in mock annoyance. Garnering a small giggle.

"Okay well I like that not very exciting stuff. It's interesting."

"Well I'm sure there will be lots of interesting things in Gravity Falls!"

"Like your next victim- I mean boyfriend?"

Chara gasped. "How dare you! You know very well that they're my prisoners!"

Frisk laughed at that. Knowing Chara was joking of course. Chara joined in as well, their siblings laughter contagious as always.

"But in all seriousness Frisk, I'm sure there will be plenty of things to do. Knowing you I'm sure you already have a notebook of ideas."

Frisks face heated up slightly with embarrassment at being caught. Chara had been right on the nose with that one. Frisk had done some research into the place.

"Hah I knew it!" Chara exclaimed once again getting up from her seat. "Knowing you there's millions of things we can do! I know where we can staaaart!"

"Oh yeah? Where" This peaked their curiosity. But a nagging in their mind said they already knew the answer to that.

"Helping me find my husband!"

Frisk rolled their eyes and looked out the window as Chara began to prattle once again about her plans. Frisk knew them by heart as she had only said them 27 times and counting. The trip to Gravity Falls being a long one. So Frisk let their thoughts slip back into the world he was entering. Accidentally going back into their grump.

After a couple more hours and it became a little much. Chara was about to stand up and go bother someone else with her summer plans seeing as Frisk had stopped listening. But was pulled back as Frisk took note.

"Alright alright! Look Chara, it's just 1 summer! It's not that important to find your husband. Would you sit down please??" Frisk huffed.

Chara pouted and plopped back in the seat of the bus. "Frisk you're sounding stupider than I do! Haven't you seen any movies?? It ALWAYS happens like this! Young girl goes to their uncles and meets a hard working man in their uncles shop! The two steal glances, and eventually- each others hearts~"

Chara acted out the scene dramatically. Catching a couple bus goers attentions much to Frisks dismay. They never liked being in the spotlight unlike their sister.

"Shhh you're drawing attention to us.."

"I can't help it if I'm so fabulous Frisk and you know that."

"I know I know, but we are almost there. How about a compromise?"

This caught Charas attention. She leaned closer to Frisk as her squinted slightly at them.

"I promise that if you listen to me that I will make sure to help you go on a date with a guy. Okay?" Frisk whispered to her.

With wide eyes, Chara pounced on scooped Frisk into a hug with a big squeal.

"Deal!!!"

Frisk smiled. Happy with that for now.

Deal....how they would hate that word later.

//Hey! AUthor here- I already know I've deviated slightly from a recreation of the book I had loved- I don't remember it all that well so there will be a lot of differences. But please comment your thoughts and ideas! Anything will help honestly...I'm not the best writer and I often feel it reads as awkward...anywho! Enjoy this short pre-story chapter.
