Name: Fizzle
Alias: The Blip
---
Background
Real Name: Glen Portly
Glen Portly never aimed to be a villain; he just found himself on the wrong side of ambition with a power that…well, didn’t live up to his hopes. After gaining abilities in a freak incident involving a microwave, a solar flare, and a set of jumper cables, Glen discovered he could generate small, harmless bursts of light and sound. With dreams of joining a villainous crew, he rebranded himself as Fizzle, hoping his new power would make him formidable. Instead, he’s mostly been relegated to petty pranks and low-stakes heists, where he tries to be useful—even if his efforts tend to fall flat.
---
Appearance
Fizzle looks more like an underwhelming party entertainer than a villain. His costume consists of a gaudy, neon-yellow jumpsuit and a pair of comically oversized goggles. He often carries a makeshift utility belt full of “tools” (which include sparklers, smoke pellets, and a flashlight) to compensate for his lackluster powers. His overall look is unthreatening, and he’s usually met with laughs rather than fear.
---
Personality
Fizzle is enthusiastic, a bit bumbling, and tries way too hard to impress. Despite his lack of impact, he has a big heart and genuinely believes he can someday "fizzle" his way to fame. He’s overly optimistic and talks big but tends to second-guess himself when things inevitably go wrong. His main goal is to earn a bit of respect from the villain community, though most just see him as the guy you call when you need a distraction.
---
Abilities
Fizzle’s powers are limited, flashy, and more annoying than dangerous. While he’s mastered the “art of distraction,” his abilities have little to no impact in actual combat:
1. Mini Light Bursts: Fizzle can generate short, colorful flashes of light from his hands. While they’re dazzling, they have the strength of a weak flashlight and are easily ignored.
2. Sound Blips: He can emit small blips or popping sounds, kind of like a champagne cork popping. He’s tried to use them as jump scares, but the sound rarely frightens anyone.
3. Static Shock: His one “combat move” is a mild shock, similar to rubbing your feet on the carpet and touching a doorknob. Annoying, but it’s hardly a threat.
---
Weaknesses
Fizzle’s powers are all show, no substance, so they’re practically useless in a real fight. Even his attempts at creating distractions usually backfire since his light bursts aren’t blinding, and his sounds aren’t frightening. He’s also easily discouraged, often giving up if he feels no one’s paying attention. His costume also makes him a conspicuous target, rendering stealth impossible.
---
Motivations
Fizzle doesn’t have any grand plan; he just wants a place in the villain community. He’s motivated by a desire to be seen as useful and dreams of gaining the respect of others. While he’s not evil, he’s desperate to be taken seriously—no matter how futile that may be.
---
Reputation
Fizzle is mostly known for his antics and lack of success. Other villains view him as harmless or even as comic relief, and he’s often mocked behind his back. He’s earned the nickname “The Blip” because his appearances are short, loud, and leave little impression. While many feel bad for him, few villains want to work with him, making him a lone operative in the world of minor chaos.
