That night, Ava couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. The atmosphere in her room felt charged with energy, the shadows seeming to shift and pulse. Sleep came fitfully, and as she drifted into slumber, she was transported back to the hallways of Veil High, her familiar nightmare now morphing into a new reality.

In her dream, she found herself standing before the hidden room, the door ajar, beckoning her inside. She stepped over the threshold, and the air grew colder, an eerie silence enveloping her. The artifacts around her seemed to vibrate with energy, their forms shifting in the dim light.

Then she saw her—an ethereal figure standing in the corner of the room. The ghostly apparition was a girl, her features soft and sorrowful. Ava’s heart raced as she recognized her from the photographs—a girl who had gone missing decades ago.

“Help me…” the ghost whispered, her voice barely a breath against the stillness. Ava felt a pull towards her, an overwhelming desire to reach out.

“Who are you?” Ava managed to ask, her voice trembling.

“I am one of the lost,” the ghost replied, her eyes filled with anguish. “You must uncover the truth. The past is not done with us yet. There is a darkness that lingers…”

Before Ava could respond, the vision flickered and faded, leaving her gasping in her room, heart pounding, the weight of the encounter pressing down on her. She had to find out who this girl was and what she wanted.

The next morning, she gathered her friends, sharing the details of her ghostly encounter. “She seemed desperate, like she was trying to warn me,” Ava said, her hands shaking with adrenaline.

“Maybe she’s tied to the fire or the missing students,” Lila suggested, excitement mingled with fear. “If we can learn her name, we might uncover more about her story.”

As they brainstormed, Ava felt a sense of urgency. The ghost’s warning echoed in her mind, and she was determined to follow the trail of secrets that lay ahead.
