9- Friends and Enemies

It was time for the final six. Pom asked Vill why he wanted to save both Syde and Pom herself last challenge. He replied that he doesn't want to play the villain anymore and try patch things up with the people he had wronged. Humility was something he forgot for a long time due to his thirst for power and he was given a reality check last season. That he wasn't strong as he appears to be. Pom decides to be honest about herself too, saying that she's used to burying herself in this snobbish and demanding persona that she had forgotten what it was like to have a honest conversation with someone like she used to with Vill and Vesary in their childhood days.

The next challenge will start when the six competitors split into 3 groups of two. Syde picked Larimar as he was his only friend left. Sage was going to pick Pom because they couldn't work with neither Vill or Chaos but Pom decided to pick Vill, surprisingly. She wanted to patch up their relationship, after seeing him trying to change for the better in the last challenge. Leaving Sage and Chaos to pair up with each other. The plot twist was that the pairs actually have to fight themselves and the losers from each pair will be the ones up for elimination. They were asked about their favourite superpower at the start and they'll temporarily possess these powers due to the power of the artifact.
First up was Sage (Controlling fire) vs Chaos (Hallucinations).
Obviously Chaos used his powers to create guilty illusions of Moss and Galaxy, reminding them of whom they betrayed. He tried convincing how terrible of a person Sage was and that they're worse than him because they pretend to be friendly. It does nullify their powers but their determination to win was stronger. Sage manages to gather all their power to resist these illusions and blasted Chaos off until he couldn't stand anymore. They tell him not to compare themselves to him because once they win, Sage will help the people they wronged whereas Chaos wants to mess with people just because it's fun. Sage wins.

Pom (Hair control) vs Vill (Blowing bubbles). Pom wraps her hair around Vill and constricts him but Vill blows bubbles in her eyes to distract her. He escapes her grasp and quickly ties her hair around herself. She becomes trapped by her own tangled hair and couldn't move. Vill wins.

Syde (Projecting sadness) vs Larimar (Has a bazooka). Syde offers to sacrifice himself so Larimar will get immunity because he took Foil's insults to heart. Larimar refused and demanded a fair fight because he wants Syde to believe in himself. Syde refuses to use his powers on Larimar and fights him without them. However Larimar attacked him too many times with his bazooka, to the point where Syde cannot even stand up. Before Larimar finishes him off, Syde was forced to project his sadness onto Larimar in order to make him vulnerable. Larimar lets go of his weapon (unclear whether it was solely because of Syde's powers or whether he wanted Syde to win immunity).
Syde took Larimar's own bazooka and blasted him out for immunity. Larimar didn't have strong endurance like Syde so he gave up. But he wanted Syde to fight for himself and that he shouldn't steer away from his goals for anyone else because Syde was so used to pleasing everyone else.

The elimination was between Chaos, Pom and Larimar. Larimar and Pom had an alliance with Syde, so he convinces her to vote out Chaos. But Chaos says how their alliance will get rid of Pom as soon as everyone else gets voted out. He also reminds her of how Larimar voted her out of the game last time and that he's also a huge threat to the game while Chaos himself never won immunity for his team before. Pom decides to play dirty and votes out Larimar with Chaos's vote. Larimar was eliminated.
Syde becomes more sad because he could've saved Larimar if he didn't win the duel ; but Larimar tells him to fight until the end and never give up because he will be cheering for Syde. He descends down the elevator as Syde waves a tearful goodbye to him.
