Mridula's POV

"Ready to meet your mom?" I asked Mrityunjay as I kneeled in front of him and kissed his palms.

He nodded gleefully and hugged me. Kids love so easily and maybe that's what us adults should learn from them.

I have grown so fond of him in such a short span that I want to take him back home with me. But I know Leela won't approve and Digvijay would probably shoot me down for even entertaining this thought.

"Will you also come along?" His eyes shined with hope.

"Do you still want to marry me?" He smiled with a nod. I chuckled and kissed his chubby cheek.

"Digvijay is waiting for you." Mukta called us by the door and we both looked at her. She gave me a grateful smile for helping her with my nephew.

Mrityunjay tugged me along and he made us practically run towards the porch area where Digvijay was.

My smile dropped when I noticed Uday to be found nowhere.

Mrityunjay left my hand and ran towards Digvijay, who picked him up smoothly.

"I missed you." We both heard Jay say this to Digvijay before he wrapped his tiny arms around the big man's neck.

Digvijay's face held a blank expression first but then it slowly changed to a soft warm one as he hugged him back.

My sister has won in life. And I couldn't be any more happier!

Digvijay's gaze landed on mine and he gently placed the little boy down and asked him to wait in the car. He waved at me before getting in.

"Where is my husband?" Digvijay glanced at Mukta and she excused herself.

"Things got a little out of control there."

"Yes. I know that. I had gone to visit my sister in the hospital. But what I want to know is where is my husband?" I asked with a slight tremor and panic in my voice.

"He is busy." His passive tone was not giving out much.

"But he is unharmed?"

"You should call him and ask him that."

Digvijay nodded and it seemed like the conversation was over from his side. I saw him get in the car and then his chauffeur drove them out, leaving me with a troubled mind and restless heart.

I walked back to my room and unplugged my phone from charging. I saw calls and messages from both my work and my friends but not one from Uday. I had already unblocked him so that wasn't the reason.

Even Vaibhav had dropped a message to check on me. I sent him a curt reply and then switched off my phone. If Uday won't call, I see no purpose to keep it working.

I'll take this time as my phone detox.

I didn't realize when I fell asleep but I woke up startled by the rapid knocking at my door.

I marched to the door and flung it open, hoping to see Uday. But Gaurav smiled back respectfully.

"Yuvraj has asked us to take you back home. The jet is waiting."

"Where is your Yuvraj?" I asked him as I folded my arms around me. Gaurav turned hesitant as he lowered his gaze.

"He is busy."

I huffed loudly. "I am not going home. We are going to our mansion here in this city."

"Yuvraj won't like–" He stopped as he noticed my glaring eyes.
