Blue: Vi, you go back to Piltover without me.
Vi: And why should I do that?
Blue: I've just got to see someone, you don't need to worry
Vi: Wait, who?
Blue: I'll tell you later.
Vi sighed in exasperation but knew better than to push him when he got like this.
Vi: Fine, don't go creating a union or something while I'm gone.
Blue: Don't worry, that's for next time
Vi rolled her eyes but smirked despite herself.
Vi: Ha...
As Blue turned to leave, Jinx's mood soured again.
Jinx: Wait...Piltover? I don't wanna go there!
Vi placed a gentle but firm hand on Jinx's shoulder, calming her down.
Vi: Don't worry, you won't. We'll just talk for a bit before I have to head back.
Jinx grumbled but didn't fight it, her earlier energy fading. She didn't seem as angry with Vi as she had before, but the tension between them was still palpable.
Blue, meanwhile, quickly made his way toward the tall building where the glowing bird had perched. He climbed with ease, scaling the walls like he had done earlier, moving with finesse.
It didn’t take long for him to reach the rooftop, where the bird waited patiently, perched on a rusted railing, its glow illuminating the night air. As Blue approached, he spoke softly, his voice carrying a sense of reverence.
Blue: Miss Janna? I know that’s you...you don’t need to hide any longer.
The glowing bird tilted its head, and then, in a swirl of wind and shimmering light, it transformed. The bird shifted, its form elongating and expanding until, standing in its place, was Janna herself, the Spirit of Zaun.
She looked at Blue with a soft smile, her voice gentle and melodic.
Janna: How did you know it was me?
Blue: You were a bird last time, too...when I...almost drowned.
Janna: You remember
Blue nodded, his mind drifting back to that day. He and Adam had encountered Jinx, ran away, but then an explosion had thrown Blue into the toxic waters below, and he had been sinking fast.
He would’ve drowned if Janna hadn’t appeared. She had saved him, lifting him out of the water with the same wind that now gently stirred the air around them.
Blue: I’ve been meaning to thank you for that...I've said it before, yes, but I wouldn’t be here without you.
Janna: You don’t need to thank me, Blue. The winds guide those who need it.
There was a pause as Blue looked out over the chaotic cityscape of Zaun, his mind still caught in the strangeness of the moment.
Blue: Why are you here now? You don’t usually...I mean, you don’t just show up for no reason.
Janna stepped closer, her presence radiating calm even amidst the turmoil below.
Janna: There is a storm coming, Blue. The winds have shifted, and the balance between Piltover and Zaun grows ever more fragile. I have been watching...and so have others.
Blue: Others?
Janna: There are forces moving across Runeterra, forces that could threaten both cities....and the other regions. I do not know why, but I have a feeling that you will have a role to play in what’s to come, Blue. The winds tell me so.
