The night felt electric, alive with danger and excitement. The closet felt like a sanctuary, cloaked in darkness as I waited, heart racing with anticipation. I could hear Y/n and Sidney outside, their laughter cutting through the tension of the night. I grinned beneath the ghostface mask, the thrill of the game pulsing through me. I listened intently as they joked, blissfully unaware of the chaos that was about to unfold. The thrill of fear hung in the air as Sidney answered the phone, and I was ready to unleash it. I took a deep breath, feeling the cool metal of the knife in my hand. The plan was simple: Kill Sidney, Scare Y/n. Easy as pie.
As Sidney locked the front door, the door swung open. I burst out, knife raised. My eyes locked onto Sidney, but out of the corner of my vision, I saw Y/n move instinctively toward her friend. Throughout the commotion, I had Sidney pinned down, ready to strike, but Y/n, protecting her friend, jumped on my back but not in the fun romantic was as usual, and both got away running up the stairs into Sidney's room. As they attempted to shut the door, I burst in, lunging towards Sidney, but just as I lunged forward, in an attempt to dodge my blade, the blade caught Y/n, striking her in the side. I wanted to call out to her, hold her in my arms, to tell her it would all be alright, but panic engulfed me as I watched her fall, pain flickering in her eyes. Blood seeped through her shirt as she clutched her side, in an attempt to reduce bleeding, and suddenly the thrill I had craved turned dark. The knife felt heavy in my hand, and I was paralysed by the horror of my actions. But fear took over, a primal instinct kicking in. I could hear the distant wail of sirens growing louder.
Before I knew it, I was facing away from them, running away into the darkness. The night air was sharp against my skin as I darted through the shadows, heart racing with every step. I had thrived on the excitement of the hunt, the game, but this felt different. With every step, Y/n's scream echoed in my mind. I could still see her eyes, wide with shock as she realised what had happened. I ducked behind a tree, trying to catch my breath, but sirens were closing in. My pulse thundered in my ears as I fought the urge to look back, to run to her. But I couldn't, not if Billy and I were going to get away with this.
I looked up to the darkened sky, stars beginning to emerge like distant beacons. I can do this. This was just the beginning, and though I will carry the weight of this secret for now, and I will do whatever it takes to keep mine and Billy's secret safe and fulfil his plan.
