«RING RING»
As the last bell rings, the teacher says, "Make sure that you all finish this project as soon as possible with your partner! The deadline is next week; do you guys understand?"

"YES, MA'AM," the class yelled out as the teacher stepped out of the classroom. As the class began to get busy chatting and talking about the project, Marcellus shifted his gaze towards Hayden and said, "Hey Hayden, wanna pair up?" He beamed, his smile lighting up his entire face.

Hayden turned his head, meeting Marcellus's gaze as he replied, "Of course I would love to." Hayden's eyes softened, forming a quiet smile on his face as he looked at Marcellus, making the boy flush a little.

"Well, where should we do the work? My house or yours?" Marcellus asked with a stuttering voice. "Hmm, let's do it at my house, and we can have a sleepover as usual."

Hayden shrugs. "What do you think?" With a raised eyebrow. Marcellus answered, "Hm, sure. I'll meet you tonight." while he starts packing his bags to go home.

Timeskip── .✦

Arriving at Hayden's home, Marcellus took a deep breath as he stepped up to Hayden's front door, nerves buzzing under his skin. The house was warm and inviting, with lights glowing softly through the windows, casting a gentle glow across the front steps.

His hand hovered over the doorbell, but before he could press it, the door swung open, and there stood Hayden, smiling with that familiar spark in his eyes.

"Hey." Hayden greeted, his deep-ish voice warm and welcoming. Marcellus felt his heart skip a beat as Hayden stepped aside, waving him in. The air inside was filled with a subtle, comforting scent that was so unmistakably Hayden—calming and somehow thrilling all at once.

"Yo." Marcellus greeted him back at him, grinning ear to ear, making the boy's heartbeat beat faster. "So, are your parents around, or are we on our own tonight?" Asked Marcellus while taking his shoes off. "They're out of town, which means no one's here to tell us to keep it down.

Think you can handle that?" Hayden answered with a mischievous tone and smirked as he turned around to go upstairs.

"Uh, I mean, yeah? I think? Wait, what do you mean by 'handle'?" Marcellus answered with concern, following him into his bedroom. Hayden smirked, glancing back over his shoulder as he opened his bedroom door. "Relax, Marcellus. I just meant there's no one around to keep tabs on us."

he said, while Marcellus tossing his bag onto a chair. "Unless you're actually worried about what we might get up to?" He said with a sly grin across his face as he looked at Marcellus.

Hayden sank onto the edge of his bed, leaning back with that usual, easygoing confidence. "Or maybe." Hayden added, eyes sparkling with mischief.

"You're nervous about being alone with me? Hmm?" Mischievous glinted in his eyes as he let his gaze drift over Marcellus's body, a sly grin creeping onto his face, making Marcellus feel goosebumps prickling along his arms, a physical reaction to the intensity of Hayden's gaze.

Marcellus stood at the threshold of Hayden's bedroom, the air thick with unspoken tension. He could still feel the heat of Hayden's gaze lingering on him, a sensation that made his heart race. He took a hesitant step inside, half-expecting the walls to close in around him.

Hayden lounged casually on the bed, his expression a mix of amusement and something deeper. "You know, you don't have to look so tense," he said, his voice smooth and inviting. "It's just us here."

Marcellus swallowed hard, trying to find his voice. "Right, just us," he echoed, his tone barely above a whisper. He couldn't shake the feeling of being exposed under Hayden's watchful eyes.
