"From now on, you will stay in the Leaf Village and attend the academy to study with everyone else. But remember, you are not allowed to leave the village without my permission."
Fuyu Yukino silently listened to the order from the old man in the distance.

His face was lined with wrinkles, but his eyes remained sharp and piercing as ever. Perhaps he was someone who had weathered the test of time and emerged as a victor in this life.
His aura of strength and sharp intellect put pressure on Yukino. She felt both uncomfortable and excited at the same time.

But why was that?

"Hokage-sama, why did you bring me here?"

Yukino asked, her attitude as calm as ever. It was clear that she respected this man greatly.

The Third Hokage looked at the small girl in front of him and replied sternly, "You are one of the children who were kidnapped and experimented on in the enemy nation's dungeons. We rescued you and brought you back to the village."

Yukino was silent. She felt like she was being deceived.

Because for such a simple reason, the Hokage himself wouldn't personally meet and give her orders.
But Fuyu Yukino didn't pay too much attention to this issue. After all, as long as she didn't have the ability, she would just quietly obey and live. Yukino understood this logic very well.

"I understand. Thank you, sir!"

The Third Hokage looked at her sparkling brown-gold eyes and said nothing. After all, he couldn't be harsh on a child who had just been brought back to the village.
Her identity was not ordinary.

With proper nurturing, she could certainly bring a completely new card to the Leaf Village.

Yukino shivered slightly, and a little goosebumps appeared on her arm. She felt a sense of danger as if she were facing a wild beast lurking around.
Yukino pursed her lips but made no sound.

Suddenly, a masked person appeared behind her. Then, before she could even ask a question, Yukino closed her eyes and fell unconscious.
"Hokage-samsama, the formation is ready, we can proceed now."

The person caught her, then carried Yukino on his shoulder and bowed to the Third Hokage. He seemed to not care much. His fingers tapped hesitantly on the table, the sound echoing as if warning everyone present, including himself.

"Take her away!"

A short sentence decided someone's fate. He stood up, and all three of them disappeared at the door of the Hokage's office. Outside, dark clouds gathered, bringing with them moisture that covered the entire sky of the Leaf Village. Some people complained about the sudden rain, while others silently listened to the sounds of nature.

Pitter-patter.

A few raindrops fell.

Then, many raindrops fell to the ground, creating puddles.

The sky reflected in the puddles of rain kept spreading outward in concentric circles, constantly stirring. Darkness enveloped the scenery inside. Even when the rain stopped and the clouds dissipated, the mud would still settle at the bottom of the puddles. It would serve as evidence of the recent rain. And perhaps the water in it would be evaporated by the sun, or perhaps trampled by people, scattering the mud in all directions.

But it would come back.

To continue the cycle with another rain.

Bigger.

And more frenzied.

When Yukino woke up, sunlight was already peeking outside. She was lying on a small bed. Opposite her was a masked man holding a book, staring intently at the contents.
Seeing her awake, he temporarily looked away from the book and greeted her.
